Customers say: Quick response

"My former handyman moved out of my area and it came time I needed to find one Of same service or better. I prayed and the Lord gave me Mike and Monica. This husband and wife team gave me fixed my sink drainage problem that others in the past only did temporary fixing. I was impressed by Mike's expertise you would get from more expensive professionals. M&M is a blessing to me."

"James is an honest, hard working professional. In order to lower the cost and speed up the job, he encouraged me to purchase a water heater and supplies using my military discount. Then he picked them up and got the job done well. I will definitely call him if I need any plumbing work in the future. Give James a call. He's a good guy."

"Mr. Nay actually returned my call and showed up as scheduled. I gave him my honey-do list and he thoroughly went through each item and explained to me what each project entailed and gave me a very fair price. He showed up everyday on time and before he left he cleaned up every aspect of the job as if he wasn't even here. He worked every day until he finished each one of my projects. Mr. Nay is very polite, professional and pays attention to every detail. I appreciate all of the work he did for me and yes I absolutely will call him back for my next project."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

The cost to install a new toilet typically runs from $225 to $530. This doesn’t include the price of the toilet itself, which can cost $90 to $1,500 depending on the model and features you choose. You can save money if you choose to install a toilet yourself. However, you might want to hire a pro for this project.

"Due to the many complexities of replacing a toilet flange, it is typically a job best left to the pros," says Jeff Botelho, Angi Expert Review Board member and plumber. "Many times it isn't as simple and straightforward as 'pop off the old one and pop on a new one' because the flange is either glued on (PVC/ABS), soldered on (brass/copper), or caulked in place with a lead & oakum joint (cast iron) and none of these things can be easily reversed without years of training and repetitive practice."

Whether wall-mounted or floor-mounted toilets are better comes down to personal preference.

Overall, standard floor-mount toilets are less expensive to purchase and install, but they don’t offer the streamlined, modern appearance and adjustable height of wall-hung toilets. Ease of cleaning should also be considered, as wall-hung toilets are easier to clean than standard models.

What you include in your bathroom remodel will depend on your budget, personal preferences, and the current condition of your bathroom. Bathroom renovations often involve changing out the shower or tub, faucet, showerhead, tiles, flooring, mirrors, sink, cabinets, and vanities. You may also want to upgrade the wallcovering, adding new wallpaper or paint.

The most practical and common setup is a toilet that connects with the sewer line or a septic tank. However, it is possible to install a toilet without a sewer line, and this can be particularly helpful in basements with no or outdated plumbing. An increasingly popular option is an environmentally friendly composting toilet. Other waterless options include incinerating or dry flush toilets, which pull the waste into an airtight container.

While you don’t have to run out and immediately buy a new toilet at the first sign of a clog, if the toilet keeps clogging because it’s a low-flow or poorly designed model, a new toilet may be the way to go. If your toilet keeps clogging, you can try using less toilet paper, adjusting the fill valve, checking the toilet vent pipe on the roof, and using a toilet auger to make sure nothing is stuck in the pipe or trap.
