"This local family run business provided outstanding and excellent service. Although they did not create appointments over the web, they replied rapidly to my phone call, arranged a timely appointment, kept their appointment time and informed me of options to arrive earlier. Upon arriving they did an excellent job in assessing every sprinkler head, pipe, valve, throughout the entire yard. They found 3 leaks, 7 damaged sprinkler heads, and one bad valve. They sought me out for each discovery to show me. They provided me a revised estimate, and upon my immediate acceptance, they were able to return the very next day and complete all the work within 4 hours, which was impressive considering the tree roots that had engulfed much of our irrigation system. I recommend these landscapers for any residential irrigation issues enthusiastically and without reservation. Satisfied customer, DN in Palo Alto."

Customers say: Quick response

"Juan and his workers do a fabulous job. Great attention to detail. All our lawn, shrubs and trees look the best in the 23 years we have lived in this house. His price is higher than we were used to paying, but he is worth every penny. I highly recommend Juan Service Maintenance."

"We are extremely pleased with the landscaping work done in our backyard. The space was very overgrown and needed significant cleanup, and they completely transformed it. The yard now looks clean, organized, and refreshed. The two gentlemen were professional, punctual, and very efficient. What impressed me most was their strong work ethic. They even continued working through the rain to ensure the job was completed properly. Their attention to detail and pride in their work really showed. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality landscaping services. We would absolutely hire them again."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Due to its slow growth, Bahia grass does not generally take over weeds. In fact, the opposite can be true. Young Bahia grass is susceptible to being taken over by weeds.

Likewise, in the cool season, Bahia grass goes into a dormant state that can allow weeds that thrive in early spring to get the upper hand. If you want to prevent weeds from taking over your yard, remove them by hand or apply a Bahia grass-friendly pre-emergent herbicide to your lawn before weeds have a chance to appear.

Foxtail self-seeds and dispurses them among other grasses and pastures. The seeds can spread by wind and by attaching themselves to animals and humans. Seeds will germinate in their new location and become a new plant, which continues the spread of foxtail. Unfortunately, foxtail spreads easily, making it difficult to remove unless it’s caught quickly.

The hydroseed mix—known as a slurry—helps grass seed take root in many ways. Water combines with the mulch, allowing the grass seed to stay moist while grounded in the soil. The extra fertilizer then provides the boost the seed needs to flourish. In just a few weeks, you'll be ready to break out the lawnmower again.

Yes, dandelions are considered perennial, broadleaf weeds.

Yes. One of the main benefits of organic mulch is weed prevention. Organic mulch forms a physical barrier that blocks light and stops weeds from germinating. It can reduce your need to weed and improve the physical appearance of your garden.
