"When we met with Tom we were pleased with his knowledge about house painting and he shared it with us freely. After given the estimate we checked his reviews and there was only one negative comment so we decided to hire him. It was the best decision we made. He was helpful with all the issues that come with painting an old house. He went above and beyond with finding and fixing problems we didn’t even see. We are happy with his work and everyone who sees the “new” house says it looks beautiful. Some even ask for his card to do work for them. We would recommend Davila Painting ."

"Rodrigo worked on my kitchen and a restroom, and I'm pretty satisfied with the work. He was really easy to talk to and made adjustments on time, and the communication was there. I would hire them again, and I have already recommended him."

"The process went smoothly from start to finish. 247 Painting did an excellent job painting my house. Since I bought the house it had never been painted so I really needed a freshen up and they went above and beyond. Every line is so crisp and I’m so much more happier with my house now."

"The kitchen remodel with Ocean Seven Builders went smoother than we thought it would. Ron stayed involved throughout the process and kept us updated on progress. The quality of the cabinets and flooring is excellent, and the installation looks very precise. Overall, it was a solid experience with a good end result!"

"Joshua has done a lot of work for us over the last year - from replacing blinds to fixing faucets, toilets and installing light fixtures, smoke alarms, shower fixtures, etc.  His work is always excellent!  He is very prompt, reliable, and does a thorough job.  I was thrilled to find such a great handyman since we had to move and rent out our house.  The only problem is that his schedule is very busy because he's so good!!

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

A traditional German schmear uses mortar, making it unsuitable for adherence to painted surfaces. Professionals recommend removing any existing paint before applying mortar. However, you can rough up the painted surface and clean it to test if the mortar will stick. Remember that the underlying paint's texture and color may affect the schmear's final appearance—so starting with a bare brick wall will ensure the ideal finish.

DIY is possible with strippers or sanding, but professional services ensure efficiency and prevent surface damage.

Most spray paints are oil-based, meaning you will need a solvent to dissolve them, like paint thinner, lacquer thinner, or acetone. While solvents can be useful in removing paint, they are also very flammable and require the use of a respirator. Beyond that, these products may smear paint and cannot be used on all surfaces.

The best and fastest way to remove paint from a deck often involves combining a chemical stripper with a pressure washer. Gel-based paint strippers are highly recommended because their thick consistency makes them less messy and easier to apply than liquid strippers. After applying the stripper to loosen the paint, you can use a pressure washer to efficiently wash away the residue. When using a pressure washer for this task, it's important to use a low pressure (under 1000 PSI) to avoid forcing too much moisture into the wood, which could lead to mildew or rot.

Yes, a magic eraser can remove candle wax. You can use it to remove all the candle wax from start to finish. Another option is to remove all large clumps with a dull knife and then pull out your magic eraser to finish the job. However, while the results can be impressive, a magic eraser shouldn’t be used on all surfaces since it can potentially damage them. If you try this method, test a small, hidden spot first and proceed cautiously.
