"This was the second project Jason Lindgren completed for me, the first being a bathroom remodel completed in early 2015. I knew then that any construction projects would have to be done by his company and so was very grateful to find him available for this project. Before beginning, they installed plastic curtains to contain the dust, then moved out the old appliances and tore out the tiles and cabinets. They also removed the built-in stove hood and fluorescent ceiling light. Right before they began, I decided to forgo the cabinets that hung down from the ceiling between the kitchen and living room, and instead asked Jason to install a peninsula range hood in the center, thus opening up the space between the rooms. He and Tom Merida, the expert craftsman who created the cabinets, agreed to the change and adjusted the bid accordingly. In order to make up for lost storage, they worked to extend the cabinets out where possible while still maintaining the visual space needed around the windows. In the living room, opposite the low wall created by the kitchen cabinets, we agreed to add a built-in cherry bookcase to provide the support needed for the quartz countertop above. They did so, adhering to code requirements to make what I wanted was feasible and safe. I had ordered new appliances, and to enable me to take delivery quickly and have them available for installation, Jason agreed to move them up from my downstairs garage as the workers completed the cabinets, and install them for no charge. Throughout the process, my new refrigerator stayed upstairs and accessible to me on the opposite side of the dining area, thus minimizing the interruptions to my life. The kitchen remodel was $8,750; the cabinets were $13,585, with everything clearly spelled out and divided into installments that I paid as each task was completed. Once they were underway, I requested the installation of two strip lights below the cabinets adjacent to the sink and two puck lights above the sink itself, which were added to the bid. When Jason began to install the garbage disposal below the new double steel sink, he found the sink depth made the exit pipe too high. He had to tear out a section of the drywall to locate the point where the drainpipe joined the vertical exit pipe. Luckily, the junction was close by and he was able to complete the connection after securing new pipe. We agreed that I would pay for the extra work, which when added to the additional lights, increased the bid by $604.98, for a grand total of $22,939.98 To center the exhaust hood over the range, Jason moved the exit hole, an addition he did not charge me for. He then repaired the holes and tears caused by removing the cabinets and florescent light, then applied mud and sanded so that it was ready to paint. He recommended and secured Victor to come in and paint the kitchen, who did a wonderful job for $400. As before, I liked all the people who worked with Jason, including James who fabricated the quartz that included a tricky sink opening that was curved along the back, and Dave who helped install the hood and took the time to explain the electrical requirements of the microwave I had temporarily moved into the living room that kept tripping my circuit breaker. My new kitchen looks warm and inviting with rich cherry cabinets and perfect lighting, and is a joy cook in and just sit and admire. I'm happy I chose Precision Built Construction and have already asked Jason to take on my next renovation project."

"We hired Lovejoy Construction to do rot repair and a wraparound deck rebuild. Every aspect of the job was spot on. Ryan kept us updated with every aspect of the job. He handled new problems that were revealed during the work without any delays and provided recommendations for other subcontractors. I would not hesitate to hire Lovejoy Construction for future jobs. He did truly excellent work."

"We needed floating shelves on a tile wall in the kitchen installed and a complete fireplace revamp. He was super fast, sent over ideas for the look and was able to give a quote and start work right away. Punctual, neat and very friendly. I am so glad we were able to have him help with our project. The price was very reasonable also, I am looking for other projects to have him help with because it was so perfect. We have completely remodeled our house and these were a couple of the final items that needed to be done, the look he recommended makes all the difference in our kitchen/living room. Throughout this remodel process we have worked with countless professionals and he was by far the best. Beyond happy."

"We worked with Ali (sales manager) and Tony (project manager), who took the time to design a project that made sense for our property and our budget, made a number of suggestions and recommendations and were never pushy or tried to "sell" us on something. The crew really went above and beyond to provide top quality workmanship and overall we were in very good hands. Highly recommended!"

Pre Made Cabinets questions, answered by experts

The cost to install a kitchen island can range from $900 to $6,500, with an average price of around $4,800 for most homeowners. The final cost depends on whether you choose a prefabricated or custom-built option. It is generally cheaper to buy a prefabricated island than to build one from scratch. A budget-friendly prefabricated cart can cost between $150 and $900, while a permanent prefabricated stationary island costs from $900 to $5,000. Custom-built kitchen islands average $4,800 but can cost $10,000 or more, depending on factors like materials, size, design complexity, and accessibility.

Custom cabinets made from solid wood are the most durable, lasting 20 to 50 years with proper maintenance. In comparison, prefabricated cabinets have a lifespan nearly half as long. The longevity of any cabinet depends on factors like upkeep, the amount of heat and moisture in the home, and general wear and tear. Popular hardwood options for long-lasting cabinets include oak, cherry, maple, walnut, and hickory. While these materials are a worthwhile investment for those planning to stay in their home for decades, their durability comes at a higher price compared to alternatives like furniture board, laminate, and plywood. The average cost for solid wood cabinets ranges from $100 to $1,200 per linear foot.

DIY is possible, but professional assembly ensures proper alignment, stability, and cable management.
