"I am generally a DIY'r and a while back I purchased six modern windows from a big box store to replace the original aluminum windows in my sixty year old home. I had planned to install them myself with the help of my grandson and we had gotten one installed when he got a job offer, out of state, which he could not pass up. These windows were too heavy and bulky for me to handle myself and my search for an installer happily brought me to Jeff Petty and CW&E. Jeff's crew arrived on time, were polite, clean and efficient and except for a short lunch break, worked straight through to completion. There were no surprises with the price and my family and I are very happy with the results of their work. Whenever I might need help with a similar project, I will call CW&E again."

If you decide to forgo your old windows and upgrade them to modern day technology, there may be some people interested in the old windows. You can try selling them on an online marketplace for around $50 to $100 each (so long as the window wasn’t damaged during the removal). This can also help off set the overall price to replace them.

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. The average mirror has a lifespan of 10 to 15 years. After that, the coating begins to deteriorate, losing its reflective properties. Acrylic mirrors have a slightly shorter lifespan of seven to 10 years. Higher-quality acrylic sheets with UV-resistant properties have lifespans similar to those of your average mirror. By maintaining your mirrors and keeping them out of direct sunlight when not in use, you can extend their lifespan. Some mirrors can last for decades.
