Since I wasn't with them and I can only observed from the window and they seemed to be fast and accurate and no issues whatsoever came up.

Mark, the bulldozer operator was fantastic. He had a great understanding of the local topography and gave excellent advice on clearing and improving our land. He used his 'dozer like he was holding a rake, moving big rocks and trees with ease. He worked quickly and efficiently. We had several loads of gravel delivered, JT the driver, did a great job of spreading it out which saved us some extra work. There was a misunderstanding with the sales office about which type of gravel was to be delivered, so we spoke with one of the owners, and they resolved things promptly and professionally. We ended up taking the load they brought, and they gave us a deal on the second load. iWe also had a load of top soil and mulch delivered. The Ph in the soil was a bit low, but otherwise it seems fine
Ragan's has done over 100 projects for me over the years. Always reliable. This time they referred me to someone who could help since they were booked. Everything worked out well as expected.
Called for a quote, they came out and measured and shot elevations. provided quote a few days later. Awarded them the bib after talking with my neighbor who had similar worked performed a couple of years earlier by same company. There bid was over 2000.00 cheaper then competitor. They worked well with the contractors building my new shop. There was no rush on the job so they took a while to do it as "fill-in" work. They built a great road with excellent slope for drainage and appearance. There were also very careful not to damage the existing paved road with there equipmen
We have been very impressed with Michael Swords and his fine crew. They are all very professional, kind, friendly, polite, punctual - all were always there when they said they would be - , always called if he or his crew were running at all late' - crew members were always there when promised. Asked for payment only when the job was finished, so we paid in increments. We always felt we could trust both he and all his fine crew and subcontractors - all extremely hard workers. Excellent work, craftsmanship. Spent extra time getting special permits we needed. He is almost finished with transforming our 'fixer' into a beautiful and comfortable home. We have been extremely pleased with his work on both our Shingletown house and Shasta Lake house (extensive exterior and interior work on SL house). We originally found him on Angie's list llast March. What a blessing to find people you can trust!!! Thank you Troy, David, Joe and Michael for your honesty, integrity, talent and hard work. You guys are something else! A+++++ Bonnie and Jonatha
AL'S SHASTA SEPTIC TANK SVC
My husband and I were out of the country for most of Dec and my 2 girls came home from school and they let us know that the toilets and showers were gurgling and not draining very fast. We were limited in our communications with them, but we managed to get a message to them that Al's Septic had drained our septic in the past and to call them, which they did. A day later, we get another email saying that the toilets were still not flushing well and showers were clogged and Al's septic had told them that it was our leach field. And seeing that my husband had replaced the leach field recently, he knew it couldn't be that. So the girls struggled thru it and when I got home, 2 weeks before my husband, needless to say, I was mad and didn't really know what to do, as my toilets were overflowing and my showers weren't draining very fast. I took the cap off the cleanout just to keep things flowing, but that means raw sewage in my yard that I was burying . YUCK<YUCK<YUCK.....my husband got home and dug up the septic tank (my girls dug it up the first time) and came in and informed me the plumbing was fixed as he said that the Tee outlet pipe and Tee inlet pipes were plugged up and that the man who came to do the job didn't do a conscientious job, and they charged us $300 and my girls dug up the tank (there is a charge for digging, last time they were here they told me $75.00 for digging). So my husband called them and told them what happened, but the guy on the phone wasn't the nicest of people, all my husband said was that they didn't do a conscientious job and should have cleaned out the Tee pipes. The man on the phone, without saying it, implied that my husband was a liar. Needless to say, after my husband told the man about the 5th time what had happened, my husband got upset and asked for an acknowledgement that it wasn't done properly. My husband never even asked for some money back, which I would have, he just wanted the company to know that they have an employee who "didn't do a conscientious job" . So here's the facts: for this one time. 1. Al's drained our septic tank, charged us $300 and said that is was still not draining because our leach field needed to be replaced. 2 My husband returned from his trip and within an hour of him checking out the septic tank (most of the hour was done digging as our girls had already covered it up again), my plumbing was working 3. Al's was called to let them know that they didn't complete the job they were paid to do, as the plumbing was still backed up until my husband unplugged the tee pipes 4 Man on phone got somewhat defensive and implied my husband to be a liar 5 My husband only asked for an acknowledgement that they hadn't done a complete job and he didn't get one. We don't know who drained the tank, it could have been the man on the phone, who knows, but that is such a basic thing, un clogging the tee pipes, and it cost my girls and me 2 weeks of frustration, so I gave them a good grade for showing up when they said they would and an average grade for the price because I'm assuming that the $300 is within what others are charging, but I give them a failure at customer service and overall professionalism when a problem arises from their work

"Since the home is very old, and the existing paint was 20 plus dingy and peeled, my wife and I did not expect the final result to be as beautiful as it was and stills remains over a year later. Swords did superb on the trim and paint in a short time of less than a week for 2 men to complete. We were astonished how nice the home was when complete. Being home the entire time the paint and windows were done, we know there were no "cut corners" in completing the job. Much attention was spent to detail. Mr Swords and his partner were courteous, professional, worked extremely clean (made no mess so to speak) and did not upset my property or neighbors in any way. The job was done excellent. Mr Swords has also replaced our old windows with beautiful new (high efficiency) storm windows. They are perfect and have save us money with our heating and cooling costs. Done perfectly! In the past year since meeting Swords Construction, my wife Julie and I have had them do several other construction and projects (remodel and emergencies) for this house and our other investment home. Swords Construction seems to be the whole package for our paint, remodel, construction, repair and maintenance needs. We are so happy to have found him and while we always bid our projects, Swords consistently beats out any other contractor for price and quality. We don't hesitate to call Swords when we need something bid or done on an emergency basis. We tell all our friends to give them a try!

"They are very professional. The team that he has working for him does an excellent job for me. I had him do some extra projects, and they turned out beautifully. He is pricey, but I think it is worth it. I don't have to tell them anything to do, they just do it. I would use this service again."
