"David, Veronica and Maria we're pleasant to work with, Upfront and direct with all Communication. They also recommended a Clearance Testing Facility which was great, they made the Clearance appointment for me and the company called to schedule. David and his team where very profession, I've dealt with quite a few contractors and project managers and they did a fantastic job. David gave me his word that it will pass, and it did due to his expertise, knowledge and his Team. I thought his pricing was extremely fair as I have dealt with this problem in another area in the household due to lack of engineering integrity, I would definitely recommend AM:PM Restorations & Construction Inc. to friends and family. Don't hesitate to call and have them give you a quote."

"Great from start to finish the team did an amazing job. Very professional and courteous, they explained the process and timeline. Janny, Jose & Tony took care of a moldy ceiling for us, recommended 3rd party environmental testing companies for the all clear and a general contractor to patch up the work and all was resolved in just a few days! Hopefully we will stay mold free but if not I know who to call and feel safe to refer them to family and friends."

"My association with Roof Rx began when I purchased an Angie's list "Big Deal"-- $69 for rain gutter cleaning and service.
The company was responsive in scheduling an appointment and also with a subsequent confirmation call and email.
The inspector (Daniel)  came as expected (November 12) and exhibited a professional manner.  After inspecting the roof and taking pictures thereof, he provided  a "summary of recommended repairs by item and showed me the photos he took. These  photos were emailed to me later the same day. I was impressed by everything that had happened --up to this point.  What I neglected to consider was that Daniel did not appear to be prepared to clean the gutters that day. I assumed the gutter cleaning would occur along with the inspection, at least that's what the Angie's List description implied.   Admittedly, I could have requested only the gutter cleaning  and even taken the time to select repairs I wanted done from the list he provided.  But, having no first hand knowledge of the roof and its features, I decided to go ahead with his recommendations, even thought I considered the costs high. We  scheduled  December 5 for the gutter cleaning and roof repair work.
On December 5 Flavio came mid morning  (10:30) and proceeded to "clean" the gutters and roof which amounted to his blowing dirt and debris from the roof and gutters all over the house, driveway, garden and adjoining properties. When Daniel came a bit later (11:05) and I expressed discomfort about the dirt, he said that the dirt/debris would be cleaned up.  The "clean up" was minimal and I continued for days to sweep up or brush dirt off of window sills, doors, etc.   Had any windows been open at the time, the "mess"would have been worse.   At no time was I told "how" they intended to clean the gutters/roof.

After the gutter "cleaning" Daniel said that they would have to come back the next day to complete the repairs.  "Normally, we have two men," he commented,  "but the weather threw everything off and only one man was available to come today; other men were needed on a bigger job. This is just a maintenance job."
The following day (Friday) Flavio and a helper showed up unexpectedly at 10:10; I had been told that they would come in the afternoon.  The men worked for several hours on the roof.  Their application of the elastomeric  began to leave drips of white around the perimeter of the flat roof.  When I mentioned this to Flavio, he then used masking tape to curtail the seepage.
Upon my request the leak in a downspout was sealed and then the downspout was tested to make sure it was clear of debris.  I didn't think that I needed to ask them to do this, but I did.
At this point, the company believed that the job had been completed, and sent me a "thank you" e mail to that effect.  I, however, was disappointed in the quality of the service and communicated my concerns to the service manager. My e-mail to the service (sent on December 8) has been appended here:
Dear Marco,
I have several concerns about the work that was done at my house on December 5th and 6th.
Specifically:
1)  I am not certain that all downspouts are free of debris.  Only one downspout was flushed with water; the others were not.  2) Because water was not run through the gutters, minor leaks were not identified and therefore not fixed. This was confirmed by Saturday's rain.
3) Not all gutter spikes were secured.
4)The elastomeric coating applied to the flat roof in the front of the house "seeped over" onto the metal edging leaving unattractive white stains which became worse with the rain.
5) Regarding the garage gutters-- I expressed concern about the possibility of the downspout(s) being clogged.  Daniel indicated that the men would run water through the gutters just to check.  If there was a problem then I could decide whether I wanted to have the garage gutters serviced as well.   This was not done.
6) And, I have not received the "after" photographs as I was told I would.

Bringing this review to a close--
I did receive the "after" photos from Daniel in a timely manner.  It would have been good, though, to pair the before and after photos, side by side so one could really see what had been done.
Daniel and Flavio did return on December 21 to address my concerns. And while they did what I had assumed they would have done initially, they did so perfunctorily.  For example, when flushing the gutters with water, there was little if any concern for what the water might land on. While this may sound minor, I expected a more professional job.
And last-- I was dismayed to see that my credit card had been charged for the full amount before the job was completed.
I emailed Marco citing concerns on December 8;  The credit card was charged on December 9.  I imagine there are separate departments handling separate aspects of the business.  But, I was surprised by this action.
Overall, the quality of the work was not commensurate with the cost. And, the aspects of professionalism , e.g. confirmation calls and emails, etc.  were not apparent in the quality of the work.

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

You'll need to test your home for radon after installing the mitigation system, then again every two years. If radon remains elevated, contact a licensed radon professional, either the contractor who installed the system or a different one, and have them evaluate the system. They may need to make some changes to improve its effectiveness and performance.

The fan that pulls the radon out of the air needs to run continuously, so you may see an increase in your electric bill once you install the mitigation system. Additionally, you may see an increase in your heating or cooling bills, as the fan can cause some loss of hot or cool air.

There are steps you can take as a homeowner to remediate radon yourself. While a radon reduction professional can make the biggest impact in your home, you can make efforts to improve radon levels on your own by sealing cracks, increasing ventilation, and testing for radon regularly.

While DIY testing is possible, abatement generally requires professional installation to ensure efficacy and meet safety standards.

The cost to replace a radon fan ranges from $300 to $600 for the fan itself, with installation adding an additional $200 to $500. Overall, the total cost for replacement can range from $500 to $1,100, depending on factors such as the fan model, home size, and local labor rates. If the fan is part of a larger radon mitigation system, the price may be higher.
