Was late starting the project-seller stated it was Riverside County that was slow in giving the permits.  That is entirely possible.

When the floor was first laid, I was very pleased with it. Soon after, it began peeling and cracking. I contacted the company and asked them to repair the damage, but they passed the blame onto me, even though I have been taking care of the floor as indicated.

They were very efficient and they cleaned up after themselves. They did a beautiful job and I don't have any complaints.

summer is approaching and the sun blinds me through my patio door, so i decided to have a patio cover built. i already had a slab for it so it wasn't as expensive as i thought. i called unique and they showed me some ideas and i liked what they had to offer so i went with them.
the patio cover is simple nothing fancy, made from spruce wood. it looks amazing and i hope it will do the trick. it took about 4.5days to get it done. everything went smoothly. no complications

I've been planning remodeling my home for years, i finally decided to commit to it and called unique. my friend said they did great work in her home. i met with the same contractor and i really liked him. he spent 4 hours with me and went into detail about what he can do and how to bring my ideas to life.
i decided to move forward and start the work. the project took about 5 weeks to do everything. they started on my bathroom and i was scared at first when i saw everything being ripped out but see it come together is amazing. first the floors vanity and shower. they finished the bathroom in a little over a week. my jaw dropped when i saw the finished result.
i couldn't wait to see the kitchen done. everyone was really nice the workers covered everything. and cleaned up after they were done. i would definitely use them and refer them to anyone i know.

EVERYTHING WENT GREAT. DOV, MY CONTACT PERSON, WORKED WITH ME ON THE TIMING (ALLOWING ME TO PUSH OFF PROJECT FOR A MONTH) AND THE PRICING.  THE GUYS GOT STARTED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD.  THEY CLEANED UP AT THE END OF EVERYDAY.  THE PROJECT MANAGER HAD THE INSPECTIONS SCHEDULE TIMELY AND THERE WAS LITTLE TO NO DOWNTIME. I WAS REALLY UNSURE, BUT THEY MADE EVERYTHING QUICK AND PAINLESS.  THANK YOU EVERYONE.

I just had my roof redone a few months before i even thought about solar. But i saw that my parents were happy with their investment. I called a few companies, wasn't too impressed. The reps I couldn't seem to find one that I felt wasn't just after my money. I called Unique, spoke with someone from in the office (very nice people) and set up an appointment to have someone come out to my place on November 26th.
They sent Paul to my house, right away I had a great connection and vibe from him. He's very personable, polite, professional. He went over everything in full detail, we spent about 2 hours talking about the different way in which we could install the panels, different brands, and payment options. He wasn't as pushy as all the other companies I spoke to. so I signed up with Paul and by December 1st, they were already to go. Everyone was on time, respectful and work efficiently. It took only a matter of days before they finished. I'm very impressed with Paul and Unique that i will use them again with other projects that may come up. Thank you Paul!

We would like to thank Steve and everyone else involved on our kitchens new look. Cabinet designer did an amazing job, incorporating them with the rest of the house. Electricians were very detail oriented, tight cables, safety pipes and very useful tips. Plumbers were also very efficient, and managed to satisfy my dads wishes in terms of path and material. Crew that did our tiles was very friendly, offered us designs, many possible options and some hints on color match etc. They were very friendly, polite, informative and above everything very professional. They showed up to work each day on time and sometimes even earlier. Leaving their job site left us every day with clean area, excess garbage was removed, everything tidy and sorted out in piles then removed. Our questions were approached seriously and I'm personally very happy with all of their answers, especially with Steve's, his tips were priceless. I believe the whole project was a huge success because we managed to establish excellent communication with Steve and his crew. Every step in the remodeling process went smoothly. From the first day, when they started with removal of overused equipment and interior to the final days of cabinet installation, painting and doing the final touches, Steve was there 100% of the time spent. He was right on top of each job that needed his attention.

We had a total kitchen remodeling ? every cabinet and counter top, electrical and plumbing changed, new floor, and one window removed and another window moved a bit with some wall adjustment. The complete job is very well done. They managed to fit into our budget quite easy, since I never heard a word about it. And everything is so gorgeous. The tile work on our floor is my favorite part beside cabinets. The finish on our cabinets is beautiful and detailed. Working with Steve and his crew was a fun and pleasant experience. We can tell that each person on the team is proud of the work they did. We really do recommend this company to every one we know who needs any job done to their home, either interior or exterior, they'll sort you out.

My husband and I met with Simon and Roy and they seemed like nice people but I will admit that they felt a little pushy trying to get us to sign up with them right away. 

I was at the home everyday during the work and thank goodness I was! there was serious lack of communication between the contractor, the forman and the workers! I felt like I had to explain everything that needed to be done. 

A couple of things really cheesed me off though. I was having a ramp built for my sister-in-law who is in a wheelchair, and the first ramp was built totally wrong. It was cracking and chipping away the very next day, I was tripping over the edges and it just was not secured to the ground well. After I placed a phone call they tore out that horrible ramp and built a new one the correct way and after some good use its nice to say this one is holding up properly and is no longer a tripping hazard.

The second thing that I hated was after the work was complete the port a potty was still sitting in my drive way 3 days afterward! I had to call the rental company myself and get it hauled away. 

Third of all I hated that they kept sending a runner to collect my payments when parts of the job had not been completed yet. Then I would get the old "I'd hate to have to drive all the way back down here to collect a payment later today when the project actually gets completed to your satisfaction" 

Over all the lack of communication between everyone involved, the money grubbing, the redo and that nasty port a potty left behind left me with a sour taste in my mouth. 

I would say to anyone looking for work to be done you should go with a local guy who has been in the business for a long time, sure that person may be a little more expensive but at least you would be working with him and not trying to juggle 4 people who are supposed to be in charge and end up dumping it on you.

*UPDATE* 11/05/12

So in my contract it was specifically stated that my concrete floors were to be leveled if needed. And after moving furniture around I can tell you that my floors are very much unlevel. There were also areas near my doors where the workers cracked up chunks of cement when removing the old carpet that were never fixed.

I have been having issues with the can lights they installed. Some pretty bad flickering ( you would think a trained licensed electrician would be able to tell you if maybe too many lights were being put in and could overload your system) and the switches were sparking like crazy! I had to replace all the dimmer switches they installed. I can't tell you how unsettling it is to worry about if these people set you up to have an electrical fire.

And one last little bit that has been bugging me is the new attic access they cut open for me. The trim and plywood board were just slapped up there. The nail holes were not even filled in.

It's so disappointing and everyday when I think about this work I wish I had gone with my gut and choose the other contractor instead of this contacting mill.

I pretty much completely remodeled my home. Significant projects included a new roof, a new pool, interior and exterior painting, driveway, some electrical work and plenty other smaller improvement projects around my home. I received many estimates from various home improvement companies. There was only one other company that provided me with a slightly better price (well an estimate), but I did not feel as comfortable as I did with Unique. A really friendly man by the name of Curtis came out to my home in Irvine to give me an estimate. He was extremely kind and patient. He answered all of my complicated questions (which I am positive everyone has when they are about to spend lots of $$$ to dramatically change their home) and was very knowledgeable. Before making a final decision I did more research, and kept finding my way back to Unique. I simply had a good feeling and went with it. So I went ahead and signed the contract. Everything went smoothly from there on out. Of course when you do as much I did in my home it doesn't happen overnight. But I was supported step by step and reassured, not only by words but by actions any time I had a concern, question or problem. 

After a couple months everything was completed and I couldn't be happier!!!! 

I liked the fact that soon after they put the tiles we had heavy rains and there was no leaking.  They were times when they said they would be here and they didn't show up at the time they said they would nor did they call to say that they wouldn't be there or they are running late.   I don't have anybody to compare them with. The roof served its purpose but they were some things that they didn't do and I would say no.

It went great this is the second project Unique has done for me and they have a customer for life. Next project they will do for me is my patio cover. Can't wait!

I had my kitchen remodel done by Unique Home Design and Remodeling. They were wonderful. First they got me the materials at almost 35% of the cost price and the installation was excellent. They finished the job 2 days before they said they would and completely cleaned up all the mess. Ive gotten work done before by other companies rarely do they clean up there mess. Unique was always on time, respectful, and not pushy. I also paid exactly what I signed for which is also rare. All in all Unique is the best construction company I have ever dealt with. I recommend them to all. Thank You Unique.

i am really excited about my brand new bathroom it looks great and unique was very quick with remodeling my bathroom, the workers were quick and clean, i cant wait to have them do another project for me!! unique you are the greatest

Everything went very well. people were all pleasant and work was done carefully and well. I was kept informed with every step. it took just the time I was quoated.

Unique Home Design came and gave estimate for total kitchen remodel, bathroom, roof and room addition. They did an excellent job, made sure all permits were pulled before begining of job, took time out to discuss in detail with me about every step by step procedure from A-Z. Blue prints were also constructed by Unique. As well being extremely thorough about there work; the project was done in a timely factor. I was very impressed with the end results of my newly remodeled home!!! What was very important and impressive to me was Unique actually cleaned up behind themselves not leaving a mess what so ever for me to have to clean up. I must say, I am extremely pleased and satisfied to have made the best decision to have gone with them.

Well I stared my journey like most calling around and getting free estimate after estimate til I found Unique. I first spoke with James who helped answer all my questions and set me up with Tom and Curtis to come to my home to take a look at the mess of a kitchen and find out exactly what needed to be done. Both gentlemen were polite, professional, knowledgeble, and very creative when it came to design. So it was may and I wanted my whole kitchen revamped and all before the 4th of july so I could have my friends over and see my new kitchen and not a half finished or torn apart kitchen. Well to make a long story short, they finished with 2 days to spare which stressed me out when it came to my party. There weren't too many bumps in the road other then trying to cook and live in the mess of a remodel. I'm just so happy its finally done and I can cook in style. In short I now have a stationary Insland instead of one with wheels, a bar that I can make and serve cocktails at instead of a countertop and cabnets, beautiful granite counter with dark stained cabnets, new slate flooring, and high tech appliances that I'm still trying to figure out. So I am very pleased with the new kitchen and the quality of work Unique (Tom and Curtis) have provided me.
