I have a 1000 square foot wrap around deck on an upper floor of a condo building.   When I bought the place, the view was spectacular but the deck was a disaster.  It had a huge elevated built-in koi pond, a gazebo, and a large concrete outdoor kitchen, all built upon a cheap epoxy deck material.  I knew it had to be redone, but I kept putting it off because I could not fathom how everything could be demo'd  and carried through my home and out of the condo building.   I was very concerned about the inconvenience and possible safety issues involving my neighbors.  I had done a lot of research and decided it was finally time to pull the trigger...

Enter Sharon and Ed of OC Decks.....they responded to my call immediately and set up an appointment within a couple of days, graciously accommodating my busy work schedule.  Ed is to decks what Michaelangelo is to ceilings--he has a great eye and is truly an artist--he immediately assessed my deck, listened carefully to what I thought I wanted, and then suggested some other ideas that were much better than mine.   He exudes confidence and professionalism in his work, and completely allayed all my fears over big blocks of concrete accidentally falling from my deck during the demo and injuring people or damaging property.  And Sharon is amazing as well!   She is responsible for the day to day details and supervision of the job, and her organizational skills are superb.   She was always readily available for questions and responded to me immediately.    I have friends who have had terrible experiences with contractors just not showing up, or stopping mid-job for a few days to go to another site....with Sharon it was the opposite.   The crew was there every morning, worked more than an 8-hour day, and Sharon even called me to ask if it was okay if they worked on Saturdays!    Miguel was the crew foreman, and he was wonderful, leaving my place immaculate every day.   The whole crew was very friendly and professional.   I was at work every day, but one of my neighbors was watching the progress of the work from her deck, and she said she never saw a crew work so hard and tirelessly.

When I decided to go for a more expensive color finish right before the end of the job, Sharon brought her amazing color specialist  over, and he did 12 custom mockups for me to choose from.    The crew then went right back to work, despite the challenges that must have presented to Sharon's meticulous scheduling on the other jobs they had.   The end result---a beautiful deck that I absolutely love!

Working with Sharon and Ed was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a contractor, and I have worked with several.    I know I got MORE than my money's worth.   They both have a lot of integrity, are very honest and hard-working.   On a personal level, they are very friendly, approachable, and easy-going.    I never had a moment's worry about anything once I hired them.  I have already referred them to several friends.  I only wish I had more decks for them to do!
