"Office rep was courteous and was able to provide a quote by phone. They turned out to be less costly than two other pest control companies that I contacted. They were able to schedule a visit the next day and the Technician arrived as scheduled. Would give a 5.0 rating except for the 30 day guarantee as opposed to other companies that offer 60 day guarantees."

"Nelson of Fieldtech was very knowledgeable, professional and polite. He was reliable, clean and respectful as well. We cannot think of anything that was lacking in their service and also said he will followup, should we have any related problems. We are very happy and appreciative. We would not recommend anyone else! Thank you Fieldtech!!!"

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

Studies indicate that owls don't possess a conventional sense of fear. However, they find intense, sudden human noise unsettling, like clapping or shouting. Additionally, owls are likely spooked by sudden bursts of bright light. While they may not experience fear as humans do, these disturbances can disrupt their natural behaviors, making it essential to minimize such disruptions when sharing spaces with these remarkable creatures.

The lifespan of a bird's nest depends on the species. The building process can take from two days to three weeks. Once built, the nesting period for baby birds can last from two to ten weeks before they leave the nest. While most young birds are ready in two to six weeks, some predatory species may need up to two and a half months. Some species nest four to five times per year, so a nest could remain in use for several months. For specific information about a particular nest's longevity, it is best to consult a wildlife professional.

When it comes to keeping birds from doing their business on your porch rails, you have several DIY options and home remedies you can try:

  • Tie a fishing line from one end of the deck post to the other. Birds won’t be able to see the line across the railing, so they can’t land on it.

  • Hang wind chimes close by, which may scare birds away.

  • Apply a bird gel repellent to the railings, which contains smells that birds generally don’t like. Or, similarly, you can apply citronella or lemon oil around the railings, since birds don’t like strong smells.

DIY treatments may help minor issues, but professionals provide long-term solutions and prevent recurrence.

If a wild animal enters your yard, prioritize safety for yourself and the animal. Remember to avoid direct contact and always keep a safe distance. Contact local authorities or a wildlife rehabilitation center if the animal is hurt or in distress. Both sources should be able to guide you on how to proceed and send help if needed. Please wait for the animal to leave naturally for non-threatening situations, as many will. To deter future visits, implement measures like securing trash cans, sealing entry points, and removing potential food sources.
