Quality of work is excellent, didn’t leave a mess and didn’t miss anything on our lengthy punch list. An absolute pleasure to work with - a very nice change of pace from other contractors. "Great work, family business, Roger and his father Rogelio were both respectful and informative. I was not pressured to buy more products even though suggestions were given. I will definately call them again and will gladly refer them to others. Old fashioned customer service. Check them out!"

"Ben and his team were great. Prices were reasonable. From posting my request to having the job done was just a matter of days. The stream showed up, we're very friendly, did the work, cleaned up and left in two hours. I could not have been happier."

"I contacted Osvaldo to repair drywall in my ceiling after water damage, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. From the start, they were professional, responsive, and punctual. They quickly assessed the damage, explained the repair process clearly, and gave me a fair and transparent estimate. The quality of the work was outstanding. The ceiling looks like new—seamless and perfectly blended with the surrounding area. They were meticulous with cleanup too, leaving the space spotless when they finished. It’s clear they take pride in their work and care about customer satisfaction. I highly recommend Osvaldo to anyone in need of drywall repair. I’ll definitely be calling them again for future projects!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Although they are used for similar tasks, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum and is primarily used for large-scale projects like taping and finishing seams on new drywall. Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it a thicker compound best suited for small wall repairs like filling nail holes or cracks, as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. For small repairs, either product can be suitable. However, you can use joint compound for small jobs in place of spackle, but you cannot use spackle for large-scale taping and mudding projects.

This depends on how much plaster is applied and in how many layers, but a decent estimate is around 150 square feet. If you are applying only two coats on a small wall, there is a chance you may only need one or two gallons for the entire project. If you are plastering a large living room wall with high ceilings, using one of the more involved techniques–like Scagliola–that requires several coats, expect the project materials costs to add up quickly.

Your walls are likely cracking due to fluctuations in the temperature outside. Drywall tends to expand and contract when temperatures and humidity levels change, and this repeated movement can lead to cracks in your walls, particularly around door frames. If you have multiple diagonal cracks, you may want to have your foundation inspected, as cracks can also be a sign of a bigger issue.

There are several benefits to wet-sanding drywall, but the main perk is that it produces far less dust than dry-sanding. As a result, wet-sanding poses fewer health risks and makes less of a mess in your home. Plus, damp sponges are less abrasive than sandpaper, so there’s a smaller chance of scratching or damaging the drywall paper. Wet-sanding also creates a smoother finish than dry-sanding.

Common causes include water leaks, settling, and impact. Address underlying issues to prevent recurring damage.
