"Great! Denise called me right back. I sent her photos of the job site and lighting fixtures. They quoted me a price and set up a time that same day with technician. Then Oscar called and asked if he could come by earlier than our appointment time since he was available and nearby. I said sure . Where have I got to go in a pandemic? He did the work quickly and efficiently. He was friendly, wore a mask and was done in less than an hour. He went the extra yard and sealed any gaps with silicone which he didn't have to do. I even got an Angies list discount. Definitely recommend."

"We recently hired JD Electric for a major project that involved wiring a large warehouse and installing commercial cooling systems. From start to finish, the team at JD Electric was professional, efficient, and extremely knowledgeable. They meticulously handled all the wiring work, ensuring that everything was up to code and functioning perfectly. The installation of the warehouse lighting was done with precision, transforming the space into a well-lit, safe, and productive environment. Additionally, their work on the commercial cooling systems was outstanding. They seamlessly integrated the wiring for these complex systems, and everything has been running smoothly since the installation. JD Electric went above and beyond our expectations, delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. I highly recommend their services for any electrical needs, especially for large-scale commercial projects. Their expertise and attention to detail are truly unmatched!"

"We are doing a bathroom remodel and needed our wall cabinet doors replaced. Pete Pena, Wood Crafters owner came to our house, measured the cabinet opening and ask what style door we wanted and he explained hinges, etc. Within the week we had new doors primed, hung and our new knobs were installed by Pete. The doors are just what we wanted and since they were primed they are ready to paint. We appreciate the workmanship. If and when we need to have cabinet work done we will call Wood Crafters, Pete Pena. Terry & Jeannie, June 2018"

"I did a bathroom remodel which included a new vanity, countertop, bathtub, tile, lighting, plumbing, and flooring. Joe and his team did an amazing job. They are reliable, detail oriented, and provide great customer service. The project ended up being a perfect combination of my personal tastes and Joe's professional input. He even custom made a large vanity mirror when I was unable to find one to fit. I would definitely recommend Kincaid Development."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

Between the relatively simple process and the lower cost of installing recessed lighting yourself, it’s not a bad idea to DIY this project. It will take a little reading on electrical safety and how to properly wire your new recessed fixture, but it’s fairly easy to install a new fixture in just a couple of hours if you have the right tools and supplies on hand. But, if you’re not familiar with lighting installation, hiring a professional can give you peace of mind and ensure the job is done right.

Generally speaking, you can install one recessed light for every 4 to 6 square feet. A 12x12 room is 144 square feet, which would need 24 to 36 recessed lights. The wattage you use for the light bulbs and the height of your ceilings can also impact the number of recessed lights you need for a 12x12 room.

Believe it or not, you have more options for outdoor kitchen lighting than you do inside. While you can opt for a pendant light or under-counter or cabinet lighting, everything from tiki torches to LED twinkle lights are also fair game. Just make sure that all electrical fixtures, including lighting, are rated for humid and damp conditions before spending money on them.

Installing recessed lights requires you to cut holes in the ceiling, create an electrical wiring connection, install the fixture, and connect it to your service panel. It should only be done by those with electrical skills, due to the safety concerns it presents.

If you feel uneasy about taking it on yourself, it’s recommended to contact a local technician to complete the installation for you.

Most ceiling light fixtures only have a black, white, and green wire, but in some cases, you’ll also find a red wire in the box. This is a second hot wire, like the black wire, and is included for ceiling light kits that have a fan.
