Small jobs welcome

"Knows his stuff. Easy to work with. The project is finished, on time, on budget. We have had numerous projects done at our different houses and I must say this was the easiest project to get through. Even when my wife and I couldn't make up our minds about finish details Greg patiently moved ahead and helped us along. Excellent experience."

"We had a great experience working with Wade Petrowich and Malbec Builders on the remodel of our midcentury modern Jack Meiselman house in Palm Springs. Wade handled the major scope of work, including installing new terrazzo tile floors, updating two bathrooms, and completely redoing our kitchen with beautiful custom cabinetry. He also tackled important infrastructure upgrades, replacing all of the old galvanized steel plumbing and upgrading the electrical panel. Throughout the project, Wade was an outstanding communicator. Even though we live out of state, he stayed in touch several times a day and was completely comfortable managing the project remotely. When unexpected challenges came up—as they always do in a remodel—he consistently offered creative, practical, and realistic solutions. Wade is professional, reliable, and clearly takes pride in his work. We are thrilled with the results and highly recommend Wade and Malbec Builders. We would absolutely work with him again!"

"I worked with Alpha once before, and they assisted with a second project 2 years ago which, now finally completed, I'm able to write a review about. Alpha helped with structural plans for windows in a garden level unit in order to prepare the proposal for city approval. Alpha is a big company and it took them a little while to complete everything; however I can certainly say that the engineer and contact people were knowledgeable and thorough. The plans were approved with their help and now that the unit is permitted for occupancy, the windows are a lovely attribute to the space."

"Pete Wright is the only builder I would use again of all the builders I have hired in my life (there have been 6). He has done everything from outdoor excavation and drainage to small plumbing fixes. Bottom line, he is THERE when you call him. We began with a major renovation of the 1 acre back yard (completely changed contours and installed large pipes to take water to the outer drains). Then moved to completely changing the location of the walls in a LR/DR/Gallery area with switching out all doors and windows, re-stuccoing the house (with Pete finding a way to save costs by using some of the older stucco as a foundation - harder to do, but also cheaper! frankly, I wouldn't have know the difference if he ripped it all off), then changed the roof edge to beef it up, sand-blasted some old wood in two pergolas, redesigned and repainted, All of this was from 2015-2019. Then we totally switched up where the kitchen and family room were located in the house. that was completed in 2019. In 2020, we had adult children who wanted to live with us during COVID, so he quickly renovated an area of the house to give them privacy, including a bedroom/bathroom and powder reno. Now he is renovating another bedroom and bath. After this, we have two more bedrooms/baths and a hallway to complete (next year) and he will most certainly have those projects. In summary, I trust him to show up, do the best work, give me a fair price and be there when you need him. I don't know what else you could ask from a builder!"

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Mudjacking restores level surfaces, prevents further damage, and is more cost-effective than a full replacement.

Charges correlate with surface size, settlement depth, and access, often yielding significant savings over concrete replacement.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.

It restores concrete, prevents replacement cost disruptions, reduces trip hazards, and provides stability at a lower cost.
