Small jobs welcome

"I work at a law office and contacted Mr. Fleener to do date of death appraisals on 3 properties owned by our (elderly) client after her husband died. I asked Mr. Fleener to make arrangements with our client's niece to view the properties. He is very responsive, punctual and professional, and our client and her niece are very pleased with his work. His turnaround time for producing the final written appraisals was very quick. I will definitely refer him in the future to other clients (and, to anyone else, for that matter!) who require an appraisal."

"Jeff is great to work with! His appraisal was very thorough, timely, really well done. We learned a lot from him about appraisals, and also home safety and home ownership considerations. He knows what he's doing. We happily recommend him!"

"Peter's appraisal was professional and timely, and his efforts are greatly appreciated. I am attempting to sponsor 5 Ukrainian friends to come to the US under the Uniting for Ukraine program. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requries a recent official appraisal from a licensed appraiser to be able to validate an asset like my rental property in San Mateo County. Peter was extremely efficient, helpful, and produced a professional product on short notice."

Real Estate Agents questions, answered by experts

Whether or not new windows increase property taxes depends on where you live and by how much your upgrade increases your home’s value. Smaller projects likely won’t result in increased property taxes, but it’s always a good idea to err on the side of caution and check. Contact your local county appraisal department for the most accurate information about property taxes in your area.

Yes, Colonial homes are generally a good investment. Most home buyers who are interested in this style love its simple yet functional interior and charming exterior. Plus, if you keep up with its maintenance, some homebuyers are more willing to purchase a traditional home without the common issues found in older homes.

While there's not a lot of definite research, some experts suggest that an in-ground or wall-mounted basketball hoop can add value to your home by increasing curb appeal. In addition, having a basketball hoop is an attractive feature of a house since it promotes physical activity, especially for children.

A koi pond may add value to your home if it’s a feature sellers are looking for. Like pools, ponds can affect your property value depending on their condition, whether they’re a popular selling point, and how well they’re incorporated into your home’s landscape.

No, home improvement loan rates typically do not drop during certain times of the year. Interest rates go up and down based on economic conditions rather than on the time of the year. Some banks may offer slight rate discounts around the same holidays every year, but this is a marketing decision rather than a decision based on the time of the year. If you want to use a home improvement loan to fund your remodeling project, the best option is to shop around at different banks for the best rates.
