"I called them based on reviews on Angie's list. They were very responsive and quickly came over to look at our older air conditioning unit that was not working. They said that while they could repair, it was better to replace it with a new one because the unit was too old and repairs could not carry warranty. We agreed. The price quoted was reasonable. Richard and a co-worker did the work. They replaced both the AC and furnace units (Trane) with TempStar. Overall, we found Cool Air team to be professional and knowledgable. We have not yet used the AC given the weather has been nice but we will in summer for sure! There is 1 year warranty on labor and 10 years on the unit."

"Nathan and Gordon at Total Home Environmental are lifesavers! I was facing estimates of $10,000 to $20,000 to replace my entire AC and heating system but instead they indicated that my 25 year-old AC compressor could be resuscitated by thoroughly cleaning the terminals and adding a hard-start kit. No other HVAC technician that came out gave me this option but they pulled it off for a fraction of the price of a new install!!! They are honest and knowledgeable professionals! Thank you so much!"

"I highly recommend Trinity A/C & Heating. Our air conditioning system stopped working, so we called another company to diagnose the problem. After a brief inspection, including a trip to the attic, they told us we needed a completely new duct system at a cost of nearly $8,000. Fortunately, we decided to get a second opinion and called Trinity A/C & Heating. Jimmy thoroughly inspected the system and quickly identified the real issue: the system was simply low on refrigerant. They fixed the problem for a little over $300, and the A/C has been working perfectly ever since. Jimmy and Mike were honest, professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything clearly. Their integrity saved us thousands of dollars and prevented us from paying for unnecessary work. It's refreshing to find a company that puts honesty and customer service first. If you need A/C service, do yourself a favor and call Trinity A/C & Heating before making any major repair decisions. Thank you, Jimmy"

Customers say: Quick response

"I was out of town when my air conditioner stopped working. My mother called 2 companies to check it out. The repair men were interested in selling us a new unit not fixing it. I found NT Electric & HVAC online through Home Advisor while I was out of town. The company had good reviews. I called Nathan and scheduled an appointment. He assessed the problem and fixed it! I would highly recommend Nathan and his company. He does what s best for the customer. His prices are fair and reasonable. I would use him again."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

The time it takes for an air conditioner to dry fully after cleaning depends on the unit's size and humidity levels. Most units will dry within two to four hours after cleaning, but check the manufacturer's recommendations for drying times. Make sure to leave the unit off until it's completely dry.

Turn your system off when you're toasty or when you're out to prevent unnecessary wear. Using the timer on your thermostat so that it switches off when it reaches a certain temperature or turns on just before you get back from work is best. An annual maintenance contract can be helpful to ensure your system receives these important services at regular intervals.

Whether an HVAC damper should be open or closed depends on the season, the zone it controls, and the temperature in that zone. In the summer, open upstairs dampers and close lower-level dampers to get the most efficient cooling possible. In the winter, do the opposite. Cool air will naturally flow down to lower levels, while warm air will rise. This keeps your system from working harder and helps prevent common AC problems.

Common signs of insufficient return air include uneven temperatures, with some parts of your home feeling hotter or colder than others, and noticeable differences in air pressure between rooms. You might also observe that more air is blowing in rooms closer to the AC unit. Leaky air ducts can also be a related issue or clue.

Most units are designed only to cool the house down to 20 degrees less than the temperature outside. This means that if it’s 99 degrees Fahrenheit out and you’re trying to cool your home down to 65 degrees, you’ll notice your AC is struggling.

Lower the blinds on all your windows, turn on your ceiling fans, and keep the thermostat at a consistent temperature to help your AC do its job. Investing in an HVAC maintenance plan also helps because pros will come out to inspect and tune up your unit regularly, keeping it in optimal working condition.
