"Unfortunately, drain would not work despite various methods employed by Hufts technician. Hufts was fair enough not to charge me for the visit. Guess its time for a new water heater."
"We're extremely happy with the concrete work by David Morris, it's just as we had envisioned. It was definitely not an easy job for several reasons. There is limited access to the back yard, so no large equipment could be used, requiring all excavation to be done by hand. Making it even more labor intensive were huge tree roots from a 30-year-old tree we had removed recently. Also, we've had drainage problems for some time due to clogged drains, most likely from tree roots. David addressed the problem by grading the area and installing a new system of drains. David is very honest, personable, and a true professional. We had scheduled the job well in advance and were delighted when he was able to start a few days ahead of schedule. David kept us informed of their schedule and the crew arrived on time each day. The job was more difficult and took longer than expected due to problems that could not be anticipated until excavation had begun. However, David did not complain and honored his original proposal. His crew was polite, respectful, and worked diligently for nearly 4 days in extremely hot weather. Thank you David and your crew for our beautiful new patio and walk, an A+ job!! "
"I hired this company to design my backyard landscape and they did a fantastic job. The designer was creative and came up with a beautiful plan that incorporated all of my ideas. The installation process was seamless and the team was professional and efficient. I now have a backyard that I can be proud of and enjoy all year round. I highly recommend this company for anyone looking to enhance their outdoor space."
"Our experience with Capital City Landscape Development was the best experience we have ever had with a contractor. We needed a major redo on our small backyard that that borders a preserve. Mark helped us with a designer to clarify our vision. He was patient as we carefully made decisions on our materials. We wanted to include bird feeder stations, and Mark hooked us up with a metal fabricator to build exactly what we imagined. He installed a high pressure misting system for relief from the summer heat. His work was artistic, his charges were reasonable, and his billings were clearly itemized."
"They used the part I had at the house to fix it. I bought it about a year ago, and had never put it in. I called them, and they came out to put the part in. It is working ok now. I have been using this company for 15 years now."
"Tour De Force Concrete poured our backyard, sidewalk, along with a concrete retaining wall. Their service was superior. Their attention detail and professionalism went along way with us."
"Alvaro Mantar did a very good job replacing the concrete apron in front of our garage and blending it into the existing sidewalk. About 110 square feet. Project included correcting the grade for better drainage and hauling away the debris. Job was done in one day and at a very reasonable price. I should note Alvaro was the only contractor who came on-site before submitting a bid. Other contractors just bid based on photos."

A sump pump will drain a flooded basement if it has a horsepower strong enough to remove the water faster than it is entering the room. If you have the wrong type or size of sump pump installed–or if your sump pump has failed–you may need to take additional steps to stop the flow of water or remove it manually.
Some questions you should ask before hiring a plumber or drainage installation company include:
Are you licensed and insured?
Do you have any customer testimonials I can read?
How do you handle unforeseen challenges that occur during the job?
Is your fee a flat rate or hourly?
Do you do the work, or do you have subcontractors?
Is everyone who does the work licensed and qualified plumbers?
Is cleanup included in the quote?
Do you offer a warranty or guarantee on your work?
Yes, many contractors offer warranties for their work. Confirm terms before starting the project.
The cost to install a new sump pump, including materials and professional labor, typically ranges from $1,000 to $3,000. The average cost is often cited between $1,200 and $2,500. Several factors influence the final price, including the type of pump, the complexity of the drainage system, and the installation location. For instance, installing a sump pump in a basement may cost around $1,200, while a more complex installation in a crawl space can cost an average of $3,900. It is important to hire a licensed professional for the installation to ensure quality work, which can impact the pump's lifespan and warranty. Note that these costs are for a new installation; replacing an existing unit is less expensive, typically costing $308 to $748.
