"This is my second time working with Encore Builders and they killed it once again! These guys are the best. Iâ ve been doing lots of renovations in my house over the past year. Some of the projects have taken months of planning and work but Encore Builders is always in and out. My home is on a hillside and the backyard area needed some work. Oz and Brandon put together a 3D image and we chose out the style I wanted. I was amazed. Some simple stepping stones really elevated the space. Project took two days and we didnt even notice they were here. The crews were quick but didnâ t compromise the quality of the work. You can tell they are a hardworking company. Very impressed with their work yet again. Thanks Encore Builders team!"

"Guillermo was absolutely fantastic and we are very happy with the fence and overall value. The fence is a dual sided redwood privacy fence that he hand cut on the last plank to line it up with the curves of a tree! We mentioned that the neighbors didn't want to be able to see through it, so he ensured they can't. I also appreciate that he took an old gate I wanted to repurpose as a trash can screen and incorporated it into the fence design with no problem. I see this fence outside my window and along my walkway so I really wanted to make sure I made the right choice in fence companies and Guillermo exceeded my expectations!"

"I heard about SES from my friend. He did last year a kitchen remodeling project with them. I wanted to renovate 2 bathrooms, so I called them right away and got 4 more quotes. I felt more comfortable with SES and decided to do the project with them. The result came out greater than I imagined. Thank you guys"

"Exceptionally good experience and value. This is the second major project Landscape West has accomplished for me and I could not be more pleased. John worked with me to design the look and placement of paving stones, plants, walkways, lighting, and it truly was a collaborative effort. He respected my input while providing helpful suggestions. To my surprise, he was able to fit my big project into his busy schedule nearly immediately and completed the work in under three weeks including demolition of old driveway, and the removal of lawn and trees. His crew was always courteous and professional, and they did not cut corners, but did things right and thoroughly. When they ran into unexpected circumstances (accidentally breaking a water line), they took full responsibility and quickly remedied the situation and made it even better than before. The finish product speaks for itself and has become a highlight of the neighborhood with many people stopping by to say how wonderful the new look is. Many of my neighbors are considering upgrading their front yards as a result. John and his crew are easy to work with, highly responsive, great communicators, and John has an innate gift of artistic design that created a warm and inviting finished product. I would definitely use his services again and give my highest recommendation for anyone considering landscape, hardscape, driveway work. His prices were reasonable and he completed his work much sooner than I thought it would take. We now have an inviting, humming bird attracting, low water, California native garden for our front yard. The meandering walkway allows us to walk through the constantly flowering plants and enjoy the hummingbirds and butterflies the native plants attract. The warmth and serenity of coming home to such an oasis of beauty, priceless!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

In the United States, a depth of 36 inches (three feet) for underground water lines is the accepted industry standard. This depth varies from location to location based on local conditions. In areas with colder winters, they may be buried deeper to prevent frozen well water pipes : This is usually at least six inches below the frost level. The International Plumbing Code calls for a minimum of 12 inches below grade.

Excavations take a few days or up to a few weeks. The time it takes to excavate an area depends on the size of the area, the type of soil, the type of excavator, and even the time of year, since winter can make digging up the ground more difficult.

We recommend removing the stump, and grinding is a popular way to do it. You can also dig out small stumps or stumps that have fully decayed instead of grinding them. However, don’t try using acids or fire for killing a tree stump, which is a fire hazard and illegal in many areas.

Leaving the stump alone invites eventual problems, including attracting termites, mold, and fungi.

To determine whether your homeowners' insurance will cover crawl space repair, consider the cause of the issue. Repair may be covered if the problems were caused by an event that the insurance covers, such as vandalism or a windstorm. However, companies won't cover the repair if the issues are caused by neglect or wear and tear.

Your contractor should handle dust control during the project. It's best to speak with your contractor beforehand to check if they plan to cover your furniture, protect your vents, or use fans to redirect dust. Eliminating drywall dust is a particularly large challenge during construction, so always take this into account during your planning phase.
