"After an attempted break-in, and two days of empty promises by  my contractor, I called Affordable late one afternoon frantic to get my front door repaired and secured. "Lia" called right back. She was very friendly but explained that no one could come by for four days. I ended up finding another company to come right away. The next day, Lia called again and said someone could come the following day but I explained that most of the work had already been done. I really appreciated her going the extra mile to squeeze me in as soon as they could, and calling me back to see if they could still help.

"My doors did not have a molding piece that held the glass in, it was a solid door surrounding the glass..so they had to cut into the door, to replace the glass.  They had to improvise on the molding pieces which took an extra two days to complete.  After it was completed I was happy to see that the door looks great and I can see out of my new glass...no more hazy views out my windows!!  Alex and  his crew were very knowledgeable, and courteous.  They reassured me that the outcome of my door would be great, even though I had some doubts during the job....I found Alex to be honest, empathetic and eager to do the job right the first time and to make his customers happy.  Thank you!

"The job was during the first half of March 2019 for a 35 year old, 28 two- and three-story townhouse unit complex in Pasadena, California/trendy Playhouse District. As the current and prior/numerous years condo association president, I have had many experiences with contractors, including roofing, painting, plumbing, landscaping, and Chris Coyle is by far the most competent, reasonable, reliable, cooperative, fair and most professional of all the contractors. I would most highly recommend his services. During the plus two-week installation, Chris as company boss was "on top of job" because actually he himself and his assistant were installing/"doing the heavy lifting" for all of the new windows. This clearly illustrates his commitment/pride in his craftsmanship. Also, he is very knowledgeable about the window product/Milgard because he thought it best for this job to actually remove most of the old window frames, not customary for a/this "retrofit" versus "replacement" window installation. He was willing to do the extra work at no additional cost in order that the new window frames were not wide/distracting but thinner/minimal/open/clean/more open/glass configuration to enhance the overall modernization of the complex. I "gambled" with this new look for improving the complex, and Chris made not only the complex look good but me as president as well. Every- one is thrilled by the windows results, even asking "why didn't 'we' do this earlier?' I and the other homeowners do not hesitate at all in recommending Christopher Coyle and his Alta Sierra Windows company to any other homeowner. We are happy with the whole process of initiating the project, arranging the service and the service itself. Very fast response from the office clerk and the owner. The two year warranty provided by the company gave us a piece of mind. The job was done in less than the week. If the nice painting sustains over the years to come as promised by the owner, we could certainly hire them back for other painting and roof needs.

"I am just really happy that we decided to listen to our friends' recommendation and hire this company. When I found out I was expecting my second child, we knew we needed more space, and really love our home, we really didn't want to sell it and start looking for a new one, since it's really not the best time to sell right now. So, our friends, who just had their kitchen redone by Precise, were really happy with the results and insisted that we should at least get an estimate from them. So, I called Precise, but we took a few other bids from different contractors. The difference was obvious since the very beginning. The representative who came to our house spent almost 3 hours with us during the first meeting; but he was not trying to push us into a contract: he was educating us, providing ideas, talking to us about what the project would entail - then, he said he would prepare a written estimate/work description and he would come back the next day. And he did. The work description was a detailed, bullet point explanation of each phase of building, and he showed us a digital design of what the addition would look like. Also, the description was fitting in the budget we had, which was very important. Here is what made me so happy to work with them: they are trustworthy and reliable. We always had our questions answered, we were not left wondering, and the crew was very professional and clean, and being pregnant, I appreciated it. Also, they finished within the time-frame they gave us, and I am so glad, since I now have the time to decorate the new room before our baby arrives. Overall, they were very helpful when it came to choosing my type of hardwood floor, paint colors, windows, etc. I am just glad, because we were worried about hiring a contractor and spending our savings without getting the results. We found an honest contractor, and that's rare. We have become really close with our representative, and I know we will soon trust Precise to help us with more renovations in our home."

"Granted, the work isn't completely finished, but I wanted to update my review to post how impressed I am. Danny Gold and his crew just completed the tile install phase. They did an extremely complex "wood" tile pattern which looks beautiful in photos and EVEN better in reality. In addition, the bulk of the work and hassles and noise was done remotely while I was out of town. Luis was great an explaining things and even though I wasn't there, I felt everything would be handled with the utmost care and attention to details. Talk about trustworthy!!! Such a gift in a contractor. The tile work cost me a bit more than I expected, but the work was well worth it. They are handling all the extremely annoying inspections (City of Santa Monica slows everything so much!) My shower glass guy was super impressed with the precision of the bathroom. "Like laser crafted" In all, HIGHLY recommend their work!!"

"The owner Jim came to provide us a free estimate and was there within the scheduled time frame provided.  He measured and got back to us with a price.  All the windows and doors are custom ordered to your specification, so don't expect to get an estimate over the phone... let someone come out - it's worth it!  When I called they were able to fit me in the next day which was really nice!  Once we agreed on the scope of services - we had to prioritize and do our order in pieces due to our budget - and Jim and his team were patient with us as we did one job at a time.  Each time we gave a deposit and Jim orders what we commit to - remember these are custom made to order, so we were OK with that.  As soon as the sliding doors were in, his office called to schedule the installation.  Same with the frameless shower door in the master bathroom and the new windows all around the house.  The work was done efficiently and his crew did a great job on cleaning up. His guys work super hard - there's no wondering, what are they doing now moments.  Our windows and doors made a huge mess because we had all the old wood framing pulled off at the same time.  And since we have dogs, we were very particular about the yard clean-up and Jim was very thorough and did not disappoint.  Compared to others, Jim's estimate was very competitive and we felt comfortable with the fact he has been licensed in the desert for so long - he knows his stuff.  The company seems to keep their overhead low and they do not have a storefront, so if you like to touch and feel things before purchasing like I do, ask them for referrals and/or pictures of local jobs.   I'm surprised there are not any reviews here yet as I found they have done so many jobs and have many happy customers willing to have you see his work.  I think probably like myself, many people in the desert don't use Angie's List because many of the contractors here are from out of the area even though they come up as local.  So Cal Sliding Door is truly local with an office in Palm Desert.  We highly recommend So Cal Sliding Door for any of your door & window needs."
