"I called Nuhome remodeling to come give me an estimate for my kitchen. Guy came out and we clicked immediately! He was very professional, wearing masks and shoe covers, he listened to me, unlike some other contractors, who just told me what to do. He took the time (2 hours) to answer all my questions and I felt I was in good hands. Once, we moved forward they took care of everything, The designer, Allen, helped me pick all the finishes and made amazing 3D models. Guy was working with the city to get the permits and the entire team just did a great job. They made sure the floors are covered and the entry ways had these plastic drapes to prevent dust. The progress was smooth, all inspections passed the first time and they finished in 5 weeks as Guy planned. They also sent a cleaning crew that did a great job. My kitchen looks amazing and it is exactly what I wanted, So happy!!!"

"They are very respectful, professional and responsible. Felipe is very reasonable and easy to work. I love the attention to detail and how well they were able to turn the ideas in reality. The idea was to remodel the kitchen and bathrooms, we did almost everything in my house and I couldn t be happier. The prices are very reasonable and Felipe always had options so we could stay with in budget. I highly recommend them !"

"I sent him this: Hi Pablo, I want to make sure we are on the same page and my apologies for any misunderstandings. Original quote was for $1,800. Then changed to $2,100 for using Rain Bird products. We agreed Which I listed in a text on Jun 25, that I wanted specific valves, controller/timer and a rain sensor. Then you started the work and an addition $200 was added for repairs/leaks, bringing the total to $2,300. We agreed. We sent you $1 to confirm Zelle was correct and then Zelle'd $1,150, which was 50% of the $2,300. When you came out to install the correct controller/timer, I asked about adding Zone 8. You said it would be $250. I sent you a text, July 2, requesting a $100 charge for the Zone 8 valve, and you would not need to install the Rain Sensor. We spoke on the phone today July 3, in the am regarding some leaks and you said, $150 would be fine for Zone 8. You installed Zone 8, added 2 more sprinkler tops/units for $15 each and a receipt for $38.86. We sent a Zelle today (July 3) for $1,368.86. That would have been the remaining $1,1150, $30 for 2 additional sprinkler tops/units, $150 install for Zone 8 and the $38.86 receipt. The 2 sprinkler head/units, we did discuss today, are incorrect, because they water the wall and you would replace those. If I missed something, please let me know. It's important to me, to make sure you have been paid correctly. I would still like to hire you to add a shut off for the top 4 valves and add additional drip system, to make sure all the plants are being watered."

Outdoor Kitchens questions, answered by experts

A few materials are most commonly used when it comes to building a frame for an outdoor kitchen: wood, steel, and concrete or brick. While there’s no best option overall, each material is better suited to different needs. Concrete and brick are typically more customizable than other options, but aren’t as resistant to inclement weather as steel. Wood is the most affordable pick, but it is more susceptible to rot, mildew, and heat than the others.

Yes, if you’ve got the skills and patience, you can build your own outdoor kitchen. Outdoor kitchen kits are available in various levels of completion. You can build your own outdoor kitchen simply by matching your DIY skill level with an appropriate kitchen kit, or if you’re already a pro, you can create a complete custom design from your imagination.

You can use normal bricks as cladding for a concrete or clay pizza oven or as a base underneath one. Fire bricks or solid clay bricks are necessary for an outdoor pizza oven’s floor, and you can use clay bricks for the rest of the oven.

Weatherproofing and winterizing your outdoor kitchen is extremely important, especially if you experience intense weather events. Make sure to choose weather-resistant furniture and waterproof containers to store ingredients. Also, go with a high-quality grill that’s built to last and protect your cabinets with sealant or varnish. Finally, invest in a covering of some kind for when it rains or snows.

Your maintenance needs revolve around the type of foundation you choose, as well as how you furnish or decorate it. Patios require little else other than the occasional hose-down, but decks and other wooden structures will require annual power washing and sealing. You may also need to restain the wood every two to three years.

Adding a solid roof rather than building a pergola or leaving the space open will make maintenance much easier. Without a roof, you will need to spend more time sweeping, washing, and covering your furniture to protect it from UV bleaching.
