Since then, I’ve dealt with four project managers, endless delays, broken promises, and almost zero communication. Months later, my yard is still torn apart, and HavenHub continues to ignore me despite taking full payment. I’ve had to involve a lawyer just to try to get a response. No. You cannot use asphalt products on concrete driveways. To seal a concrete driveway, use acrylic, epoxy, polyurethane, silane, siloxane, and silicate sealers or deep penetration sealers made specifically for concrete. Meanwhile, asphalt sealers contain refined coal tar (asphalt emulsion), water, sand, clay, polymers, and additives and are incompatible with concrete’s surface texture and higher density.

To maintain their strength, asphalt driveways and parking lots need to be sealcoated once every two to five years. You may also need to reapply paint striping every few years as it fades to ensure drivers can safely navigate the parking lot.

Yes, you can seal asphalt before it’s fully cured but you should wait to do so until at least three months after installing it. Otherwise, the seal coat can trap the asphalt’s oils and chemicals, preventing it from fully hardening. This can lead to a weaker surface that’s vulnerable to damage. But if you wait at least three months, applying a seal coat can extend its life by protecting it from water, UV rays, and other damaging elements.

Sealing your driveway gives it the longest possible lifespan. You’ll reduce your driveway’s risk of cracking, breaking down from exposure to UV light, discoloring, and staining from road chemicals.

In general, crack fillers last for about two years on average. That timeline can be shorter if you have extremely harsh winters or longer if you live in a mild climate. Luckily, this product is pretty affordable at the hardware store (about $10 to $30) and easy to DIY, so redoing it every few years shouldn’t be too much of a hassle.
