"Michael Ridgeway was wonderful to work with because he listened to how I wanted the gate to be finished so it would be structurally strong. I would hire him again without any question. Michaels helper that worked along with him worked very hard. I really appreciate their work ethics. Thank you so much Michael and Tommy! Sherie"

"Excellent! Dean and Alex were prompt, courteous, friendly, fast, professional, and their prices are very reasonable. Our carpet, which was very stained, looks like new after being steam-cleaned by Perfectly Clear! We are impressed and very grateful. We recommend this company and would definitely hire them again."

"Aaron showed up 10 min early. He was very professional and courteous. His workmanship was fantastic. He installed the sheet rock, taped and textured the wall in good time. He blended the texture perfectly and seams are utterly non existent. I had Aaron look at another project that I have going on and asked him if he was interested. He said he could perform the work but it was not his specialty and recommended I use someone else. Imagine that, Honesty! I would hire him again anytime. I would recommend Aaron to anyone needing work done."

"In summary, Mike was skilled and efficient. First, his bid for the work came in substantially lower the the two other bids I obtained. Second, he has tremendous skill floating walls. It is NOT easy to create a level and smooth surface in an old house with plaster walls. Did I mention that this job was 600 sq ft of floating?:) It usally takes a lot of time, which is why the other bids came in so much higher. I also want to say that the other two companies I had bid the job recommended installing thin drywall board over the entirety of the room. This was not my preference as the ceiling was already low and I didn't want to lose any more space. Mike was able to float a very thin surface over the texture and rough patches to my exact preferences. Third, the grinding/smoothing the concrete was also a bear of a job, and Mike was willing and able. Finally, Mike was constantly offering me great advice to improve the overall finish of the room. He suggested base boards and crown molding around the windows, which I had originally not wanted as I wanted a more 'roughed in' look. He advice turned out to be great and I am very happy with the end result. He even threw in the cutting of the base boards/molding and painting of the room at no addtional cost.
Overall, Mike seemed very invested in this project. That type of investment means Mike will go the extra mile to make your finshed results look great.

"A spiral staircase was to go over a sewer line. This contractor is not afraid to tackle this project. The contractor built a balcony and wooden staircase 15 years ago. Owner decided to replace wooden staircase with a powder coated iron staircase and handrails to current code. The pole was to be over a 12”x12” concrete square using piers. Only problem was the sewer line was where the pole was to go. The sewer line was covered and wrapped before pouring concrete. Passed building inspection. Two high quality redwood deck boards replaced existing that split. Window frames had dry rot, but replaced. Post for electrical outlet lowered for aesthetics."

Playground Equipment questions, answered by experts

It may be tempting to DIY the construction of a swing set to save money, but we don’t recommend it. Since children will use the swing set, the entire system must be solid and safe, meaning the cost savings aren’t worth potentially endangering them. Plus, most DIYers will have to build their swing sets out of wood, which won’t last as long as metal or vinyl and introduces the risk of splinters. Instead, hire a local playground equipment installer to ensure the swing set is built safely and efficiently, setting up your kids for fun for years to come.

The average cost to install a playground is around $500, with most homeowners spending between $150 and $1,200 on installation labor. The total project cost can range from $500 to $2,500. These prices typically do not include the playground equipment itself, which can cost an additional $100 to $1,500.

Several factors influence the final installation cost:

  • Playset Details: The type, size, material, design complexity, and number of accessories.

  • Site Preparation: Costs may increase if the land needs to be leveled.

  • Yard Accessibility: Difficult access for installers can raise labor costs.

  • Customization: Custom-built playgrounds are more expensive to install than premade kits.

  • Permits: Local permitting fees may apply.

Additionally, remember to budget for playground surfacing, which can cost $15 to $160 per cubic yard, or up to $225 per cubic yard for poured rubber.

Generally speaking, building a swing set is cheaper than buying a prefabricated one, but this assumes you have all the tools and knowledge to complete the project. The average cost to build a swing set is $514, but you should also factor in the time and effort it will require—if you don’t want to give up your weekend, it’s worth considering buying instead of building.

If your seedlings have reached a few inches in height and the weather outside has stabilized to where you’re no longer seeing overnight temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, it may be time to start hardening them off to get them ready to be planted in the garden.

There are many different types of basketball hoops available to choose from.

  • Portable hoops are fully moveable and generally do not require assistance with assembly.

  • Semi-portable in-ground hoops have an anchor cemented in the ground and a removable post.

  • In-ground hoops are fully built into the ground as one piece and cannot be relocated after placement.

  • Wall-mounted hoops do not have a post or pole and work well when space is limited.
