"Patrick showed up on time and did a thorough job. Carpet smelled of string urine from our old Great Dane. He cleaned the stains and removed the smell at a very reasonable price. We will have him back to do the rest of our house soon. Great job and a good guy. I’d certainly recommend him to anyone!"

"Excellent! Dean and Alex were prompt, courteous, friendly, fast, professional, and their prices are very reasonable. Our carpet, which was very stained, looks like new after being steam-cleaned by Perfectly Clear! We are impressed and very grateful. We recommend this company and would definitely hire them again."

"It went great. I called ahead and made an appointment. We showed up on time. They took a few minutes to get ready for us and then took our car. We waited in their waiting area which was fine. When they were done they brought back the car all sparkling and clean.  This deal was good for two more services and they said to just bring it by any time and I didn't need a card or anything to take it back, so that was easy.

"JC and his crew really impressed. The first cleaning was more thorough than I expected and I really appreciate that they provide all their own cleaning materials and equipment. When I asked what I needed to do to prepare, the answer was "just open your door."  I have since contracted for biweekly service and continue to be impressed. Highly recommend.

Buffing and Polishing questions, answered by experts

A mason lays brick or stone together, sometimes with mortar in between the bricks and stones, and sometimes without mortar, also called a dry-stack or surface bonding. Examples of work masons do include:

  • Brick, stone, or cement block houses and buildings

  • Freestanding stone or brick walls

  • Chimneys with wood-burning fireplaces

  • Cement block basement or crawl space walls

If you would rather use vinegar to clean the stone fireplace instead of dish soap, this mixture should work fine. Vinegar is slightly acidic, however, so it may etch some kinds of stone without quite a bit of diluting. For a stone fireplace, dilute it to about one cup of vinegar for every gallon of hot water. It’s a smart idea to test the diluted mixture in an inconspicuous area of the fireplace and watch for etching. You can use vinegar to clean quite a few different items around your home, and it’s especially good at removing stains.

If you notice dull spots on your marble floor, that could result from etching. If you’ve used the wrong type of floor cleaner in the past or left a spill unattended for too long, your marble floor may have suffered some surface damage. While there are ways to protect your natural stone from etching, you may have to call in a professional for repairs.

The best cleaning method to use for your project will depend on the specifics of that project. However, sandblasting does come with the risk of damaging the surface you’re trying to clean. One safer alternative to sandblasting is laser cleaning, which can remove many of the same contaminants with a lower risk of damage and a lower overall cost.

You generally cannot change the color of the natural stone, such as making granite countertops darker or lighter. Some people claim that certain chemicals will lighten or darken granite, but those will damage the stone and not provide uniform, expected results, so it’s better not to try. Similarly, some people ask whether they can stain over granite. Granite is beloved for its stain-resistant finish, so you probably won’t get the best outcome if you try to stain over granite to make it darker.

Instead, consider honing, painting, or applying another material over the top of the granite to make it appear darker.
