"Mega Power Electric is an excellent company to work with. Gary and his team are knowledgeable, honest, and will go out of their way to get the job done right. We installed panels and solar battery storage unit in our home and we're reaping the benefits of being clean and green."
"His name is Andrew Johnson. He is going to be doing our carport next. He does all of our electrical but he also does incredible solar. It was around $17,000 for the solar. We have a big house. You can't beat his prices. He doesn't have a huge company. His guys are great. He shows up when he says. He does meticulous work. The city's came out and told him right in front us that he did better than perfect. He lives in our neighborhood. He told him to get on Angie's List"
"Overall, it was a very pleasant experience with no real complaints to speak of. Overall they get an "A" rating from me, the only ding being a "B" for punctuality due to a postponed appointment. This might be due to the city inspector, but quite possibly because they were quite a few people handling my account which lead to some information confusion. The Verengo employees were always very courteous and up front about the information. You will find many resources prompting you to buy solar if you can, and I would agree, but if you don't have the $20k (estimated) then leasing it is the way to go and here's why: Your situation may vary, but my lowest electric bill (winter) was $120. We have a modest 2k sqft home with A/C and evaporative cooler. We use electricity responsibly, but we are power hungry in that I have a lot of air tools and appliances. In the summer the bill would push in the mid $500 range depending on how much I was willing to suffer through my evaporative cooler on the 110+ degree weather days. After the engineering, evaluation, installation, and initiation, my bill is a flat $128. Keep in mind that my lowest bill was $120 and I'm sure that included a vacation and a few days of maximizing darkness. Electric like fuel will never go down, and even though they will be slight* (you will have your increase schedule) it is still comparably lower than the electric company's yearly price hike. While I will not truly enjoy *free electric due to the lease, I did manage to lower my electric bill for years to come and the kicker is that I don't have to worry about the maintenance. To sweeten the deal, if I come across some money and pay my system off in advance, there are no penalties. So the system works, is remotely monitored, and I'm saving money. What other concern could you have? Installation? The conduit on the sides leading to the inverter were color matched to my home. I maintain my on evaporative cooler so I frequent the roof and know what things should look like up there. All of their work is sealed properly and positioned straight. They even repaired some previously cracked concrete tiles on my roof. I was impressed by their service.
Do your research if in the area, there are multiple solar companies trying to get your business. In the end I went with Verengo due to the customer service. I ended up being happy with the price as well. If you find this review helpful, mention me so we can both get added rebates ;).
"Landmark construction and energy crew executed a whole kitchen renovation for us, including custom cabinets, new floors, new countertops, electrical (sub panel with lights and switches), recessed lighting covering, plumbing fixtures, took down wall to expand the kitchen area by merging it to the living room space. The cost included all the materials for cabinets and countertops, backsplash tiles, new floors and the appliances. We are thrilled with our new kitchen! Charlie, Nir and the workers did an excellent work and while the whole job was completed in less than a month. You could see how hard they worked in order to keep the work moving so it will be done in that time period that they originally promised us. On top of that, they worked hard to get things to our requirements (i.e. to stain the cabinets, complete the paint etc…). We all were pleasant and satisfied to have them work at our house and mainly with Charlie (project manager) that was approachable and supportive when we had requests or problems. I must mention that on few times, we were bothered with some of the workers when they didn’t show up when they should, or worked more hours on the electricity panel. Clearly enough, it’s normal that you must have to handle a lot of problems when you decide on going for this type of project. The final cost was the same as we agreed with them at first, although we were sure that it will be increased due to some additional things that we did during the work and that were not included in the first estimate/agreement. Overall, we would give LANDMARK CONSTRUCTION AND ENERGY CREW Construction a strong recommendation!"
The longevity of electrical work in Mariposa depends on choosing materials that handle temperature swings and wildfire risks. Proper grounding, surge protection, and ventilation for electrical panels are essential. Ensuring all work meets California Electrical Code and passes inspections supports long-term safety. Rural power reliability and the need for outbuilding wiring also influence the durability and ongoing performance of your electrical upgrades.
Helpful?
Electrical projects in Mariposa often impact systems like well pumps, HVAC units, or water heaters. Upgrading to a heat pump or installing a generator may require an electrical panel upgrade. If your home has older wiring or unique layouts, changes can affect water supply, heating, or fire safety devices. It’s wise to review how planned electrical work could impact interconnected systems before starting any project.
Helpful?
Homes in Mariposa with log, adobe, or slab construction can make running new wiring more complex. Open beam ceilings, hillside foundations, or additions with mixed electrical systems add challenges. Limited attic or crawl space access and large properties with outbuildings may require longer wiring runs. Features like wells, septic systems, or fire-safe landscaping can also influence the planning and approach for your electrical project.
Helpful?
Signs your Mariposa home may need electrical upgrades include frequent breaker trips, flickering lights, or older two-prong outlets. Homes with outbuildings, well pumps, or wood stoves often require modernized wiring for safety and efficiency. If you rely on extension cords or lack GFCI outlets in kitchens and bathrooms, it’s a strong indicator your electrical system needs attention, especially given Mariposa’s rural and fire-prone environment.
Helpful?
Before starting electrical work in Mariposa, consult the local building department about permit and inspection requirements. Coordinate with your utility provider if service upgrades are needed. Have a qualified professional assess your current system and plan for increased demand, especially if you have outbuildings or well pumps. Review your home’s structure for access issues, gather any past permits, and avoid scheduling work during peak wildfire season.
