"We received about six estimates over the course of a year before choosing to work with Darrow and Mirsky Heating & Air Conditioning. His bid was considerably less than the others, but we chose Mirsky over the bigger companies because he is a real person who treated us like real people and more than just a sale. Darrow took the time to explain he recommended the system he installed and why we didn't need all the bells and whistles other companies were trying to force on us. The work took a full week with permits, when we'd been quoted 2-3 days (by everyone), but we didn't mind. The rule of the triangle says fast, cheap or good -- pick two. Darrow didn't charge us a penny more than the original estimate, despite the many surprises our old setup and the inspectors presented. It's only been a week or two, but our new system is shipshape and working great, just in time for the first heatwave of summer!"

Thermostat screen went blank-furnace and A/C wouldn't come on

Chris arrived within 1 hour of my call and checked the furnace first. He found a blown fuse and no power to low voltage wires inside the unit. He then checked the thermostat and found it was no longer working. Chris replaced the fuses and the thermostat with a similar unit and tested the entire system. He then checked my A/C unit for Freon levels and found and repaired a wire that had come loose.

Chris was very pleasant to work with and explained what he was checking and why as he went along. He explained how the new thermostat worked and provided me with both the installation and operating manuals. Great service!

"Very well. Technician, John Ruiz, showed up on time - as scheduled, was very polite, thorough, informative, and very professional. John pointed out some potential safety issues with our aging system and made some recommendations. My wife and I were very impressed with his explanations of his findings in our system as he showed us discrepancies and took several pictures of problem areas that would have been difficult to access. I also want to comment that the installation team, Adam Palazzola and Diego V. were nothing short of outstanding! It only took them 2 days of ripping out the old system and installing the new. "Not only did the technician find what was wrong, he told me that the unit was in really good shape (after he got it running) and that it was good to go for many more years.  That's honesty for ya!  I know that IWAI is a little far from the westside of LA but I called Craig anyway because of the great job he did for another one of my clients.   The tech got out there within 48 hours and made some minor repairs to a unit that I was told would possibly need replacing.  My clients were thrilled at the low cost of the inspection and that it only needed a couple of parts to get it running like new.  They ended up buying the condo and are extremely happy.  But wait, there's more!  
(Second Job) I met Craig in January of 2015 when he came out to look at a heating problem in one of my client's apartment complexes in Beverly Hills.  This was an old building (1947) that had 3 gravity furnaces underneath the property.  All 3 were original and failing.  I got three bids to have them removed and replaced with new units.  One bid was just over $18,000, the other just over $16,000. Mind you, this was to remove three gravity furnaces, replace them with new gas furnaces, including some duct work, as well as do a complete new installation in the attic of the top floor unit.  IWAI's price came in approx. $8,000 cheaper than the highest bid!!! $8,000!!!!  I was skeptical at first.  I mean who wouldn't be?  An $8,000 difference?  But I discussed it with my client and we went with IWAI Heating and Cooling.  Not only did Craig do what he said he was going to do, but he started on the day he promised, and he finished on time as well!!!  The tenants had only nice things to say about he and his crew and no one was inconvenienced but for a couple of hours when an air return had to be installed in one of the lower units.  The job couldn't have gone any better and the price was outrageously inexpensive for the work that was performed.  My client was thrilled and so were her tenants, especially now that they had heat.  Thanks to Craig and his crew for taking care of this job with the upmost professionalism.  If you need anything regarding HVAC, call IWAI heating and cooling.  Have them come out and give you a quote; you'll be glad you did!!!
