Jackie Flor was our designer and she put in a lot of hours getting us the design we wanted. The price was laid out and explained at the beginning and there was nothing hidden or unexpected. Summary: Aqua Concepts rebuilt most of my pool (70-year-old, 20’x40’, 9’ deep maindrain, rectangular pool) from the rebar on up, replastered the pool, added new steps, pressure tested my maindrain, installed a split maindrain, and recommended a pool Startup party that I am very happy with. Time Frame: May-June 2021 (COVID time) Issues\Complaints: None My AquaConcepts contact: Chris was always available to answer my questions whether by text, phone call, or in-person visit. He did so in a timely manner. He also suggested alternate approaches and ideas that could be implemented during the rebuild. Very helpful. Background: Initially I planned only to replaster the pool. The surface looked OK except for a few “red spots” in the shallow end. Those spots turned out to be rusted rebar that had penetrated the plaster! This finding changed the entire nature of the job. AquaConcepts dug several “windows” into the plaster and it was evident that rust was widespread. To affect a reasonable rebuild price, they built a new rebar shell (say 6” above the old one), covered both rebar frames with shotcrete (at 3500 psi), bead blasted my existing tile (came out pretty good looking) and all this for half the price of a new pool (new pool of this size: 80-90k.) They also built the rebar shell for the new steps. (As I’m retired, I watched every step of the rebuild closely, asked lots of questions, and enjoyed the process)."

Everyone who was involved at our project really listened to our ideas and vision while their new design of how the new pool will look like was much more improved compare to our original concept. Joe is a wonderful project manager who managed an expert team and kept us completely informed in regards to the progress of the work and made all the adjustments hassle-free. Our new pool was completed within our budget and a little bit before the promised time and we truly enjoyed contributing in the makeover of our back yard. "I thought pool plumber did a pretty good job with this pump installation, up until the point I requested a receipt for the work done. The reason I asked them for a receipt was so I could turn my application in for a rebate.
First, I was put off, then, after a couple more requests - silence.

"Great job by CA Arborist. Special recognition to crew leaders Eddie and Cesar.  Eddie took care of all the tree work and Cesar handled the concrete work.  Several of the trees that were removed were next to a swimming pool.   Eddie's crew made sure neither sawdust, branches or leaves fell into the pool.  They cleaned up after themselves and the yard looked great.   Cesar's crew had to do a large amount of excavating (by hand) to prepare the site for the concrete pad. Cesar consistently kept me informed about any changes regarding the layout of the concrete and placement of the natural gas and electrical lines. His suggestion were well thought out were later implemented into the plan.   The work site was picked-up and cleaned each day before the crew left.  I was pleasantly surprised  CA Arborist didn't revise their estimate after all the work that was required to remove the stump and root system of the coral tree.  It took Cesar's crew an extra day to completely remove the coral tree and grade the surrounding area.  Everyone I dealt with from CA Arborists were polite, professional, and easy to work with."

"My husband and I are thrilled with our new backyard! From the beginning Andrew understood our needs and worked on a design that would give us more usable space for our family gatherings. Andrew is jus wonderful to work with! He is attentive to your needs and concerns and has an incredible vision for hardscape design and landscape. Once the design was done, they had to demolish existing cement and level our whole backyard to have more usable space. They installed pavers, lighting, gas lines for our fire pit and grill and landscape. It all came together even better than we ever imagined! The whole team was led by our project manager, Alvaro, who is a pleasure to work with. Every worker that was brought in was professional, punctual, and tidied up before they left for the day. Alvaro was always responsive and accommodating with the changes that we thought needed to be done along the way and still the project was completed on time and within the budget. We wish we could give more than 5 stars and cannot recommend this company enough! Hiring California Smartscape was the best decision we could have made and one we will enjoy for many years to come!!"
