"Bravo electric did an excellent job, conscious of the price yet providing a quality job. I have no problems of recommending Bravo to friends and would use Bravo on any future project. He was calm, professional and competent in his work, willing to explain the job in detail to me. Thanks again.. Bill"

"George Leach is top of the line contractor/electrician and I give my highest recommendation. I contracted George to install an EV charger for my new Cadillac EV, and I wanted top of the line. I wanted to make sure that my charger was going to handle the output that I wanted for the high amp Enphase charger that I wanted to install. I queried five contractors and only George was responsive, had follow up, and actually did his own background to make sure that what I wanted to do was going to work. He did the extra work to investigate my panel to ensure that my infrastructure could accommodate the extra load. As a home owner, I could tell immediately I was in good hands. I had cheaper options--but I dismissed those out of hand because of poor attitudes, service, follow-up, and shortcut takers. George Leach is none of those things. Not only does George take the extra time to think through his work, when he meets an obstacle, he takes the time to work through it and does the quality job. We have zero worry with regard to the quality of the install of the panel and the charger. Can't recommend George any more highly. I wish I could, cuz he's also a sweetheart. Hiring George was a good decision. Thank you, George!!!!"

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

"I highly recommend Tony & Sons Electric for their exceptional service. The team exceeded expectations with their professionalism and efficiency. They ran power to my gate, fixed power issues in my second house, replaced a breaker box, installed new lights, and added two exterior plugs, all flawlessly executed. Each task was handled with precision and the work areas were kept clean. I appreciate the warranty provided, adding an extra layer of trust. If you need reliable and high-quality electrical services, Tony & Sons Electric is the go-to company. Thank you, make sure to ask for Edgar, it was an outstanding experience."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Generators are safe to use as long as they are installed and operated correctly according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The most critical safety tips are to never use a portable or fuel-powered generator inside an enclosed space due to the risk of lethal carbon monoxide poisoning; always operate it outdoors where fumes can dissipate away from your home. Additionally, never attempt to connect a generator to your home’s electrical panel yourself—hire a professional to ensure the setup meets safety standards. Finally, avoid overloading the generator by not connecting more appliances than it is rated for, as this can damage your equipment or cause a fire.

When converting a standard 120-volt outlet to a 240-volt outlet, the only components you can typically reuse are the existing electrical box and the hole in the wall. Everything else—including the wiring, breaker, and receptacle—should be replaced to ensure both safety and efficiency. Appliances designed for 240 volts have different plug configurations that won’t fit into a standard 120-volt outlet, making it necessary to install a compatible 240-volt receptacle. This design helps prevent overloading or underloading the power available to any one outlet or circuit.

A light switch should be at least 2 inches from the edge of the trim of a door. The location of wall studs will often help determine where to put the light switch by your doorway, and in most cases, wall studs make it impossible to install the switch closer than 2 inches. When possible, try to keep the switch within arm’s length of the entryway.

Well pumps need power to run, so they can’t function without electricity. If your power shuts off, there can sometimes be enough pressure in the water tank to allow for a lucky flush or a bit of tap water—but this won’t last long. It’s a good idea to have a backup generator or an alternative power source like solar if you’re worried about losing power.

If all of the outlets in one room suddenly stop working, it’s likely the result of a tripped circuit breaker. This easy-to-resolve malfunction is caused by overloading the circuit with too many working appliances at the same time. Locate the tripped breaker in your electrical panel and reset it to restore power.
