"There was a slight rain delay and they worked with my schedule to avoid any issues with damp wood that needed to be painted! They also treated some small cracks in the wood panels. Showed up on time and stayed into the evening on both days! Everything went wonderful!!!"

"First of all, the website and reviews were great. I went with this company first. Dave was so perfect at explaining everything that would be done. I made my decision to hire them and canceled all other estimates for that week. I was absolutely amazed at the beautiful exterior paint job of my old beat-up 1948 house. They repaired, patched up, and replaced what was needed. The paint job is perfect. The team was very professional, which was important to me. They did a perfect job, and I look forward to hiring them to paint the interior of this old house."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can pressure wash epoxy floors, but you must take precautions to avoid damaging the surface. While most epoxy floors can be cleaned with a mop, you might choose to pressure wash if the floor is stained, has ground-in dirt, or is covered with mold or mildew. To do so safely, first soak any stains or dirty areas with a gentle cleanser. Use a lower pressure setting with a gentle nozzle, such as a green, white, or black tip, or a 45-degree angled tip. Keep the spray nozzle at least 18 inches away from the floor to protect the surface. Using a surface cleaner attachment or a rotary scrubber can also help prevent overspray. Be cautious if using a power washer that heats the water, as the combination of heat and pressure may be too powerful and could damage the epoxy coating.

If the lead paint is in a place that is not easily disturbed and is not flaking or deteriorating, you do not necessarily need to remove it. Lead is toxic when dust particles or flakes from peeling lead paint are ingested. If people are not in the area with the lead paint, it may be safe to leave it in place. You still may want to consider encapsulation with a paint formulated for covering lead-based paint, just for an added layer of protection.

Most spray paints are oil-based, meaning you will need a solvent to dissolve them, like paint thinner, lacquer thinner, or acetone. While solvents can be useful in removing paint, they are also very flammable and require the use of a respirator. Beyond that, these products may smear paint and cannot be used on all surfaces.

Sanding surfaces, repairing damage, cleaning thoroughly, and using quality primers are all steps you can take for exterior home painting.

Soot can be harder to remove compared to other types of stains given its acidic nature. It can also cause underlying paint to peel off during the cleaning process. If your soot issue is a result of smoke damage, it’s recommended you call a pro to help remove it versus doing it yourself.
