"Outlet sparking. Edison advised to get an electrician immediately. Brian at V-Tech Electric was the first that responded and promised to not leave me in the dark for another night, even tho he was currently working out of the area. He fulfilled his promise and had the issue resolved within 15 minutes of his arrival. His price was more than reasonable, particularly for "overtime" service. I am planning on having all of my outlets updated and V-Tech will do the job. Refreshing to find an pleasant, competent and honest contractor."

"Nick was great, very personable. However, he wanted to charge us a fee to draw anything up before the work began. I understand the point of a design fee, and know that it's not uncommon. But we were only wanting a sketch as we talked about it, and instead, he wanted something like $350 with only a small portion of that going to the overall price. We discussed how we'd use the Angie's List deal (if I'm not mistaken, it was $2800 work of work for $1499 including 15 plants, succulents costing more, and a line of water to be laid down - the deal is now gone). I provided 9 plants, pavers and a tree myself. I'll also state - he asked me to pay a portion up front, and the remainder at the conclusion of the job, instead of going through Angie's List for payment. The guys worked quickly, and were polite and friendly. They finished in 2 days. A week later, one of the valves busted on the sprinkler system, and our backyard flooded a bit. Their guy came out the following day and replaced the defective part, and dug up our drain. That was 2 weeks ago, and the yard is still a bit muddy - not their fault, obviously. But I wanted to provide photos of the work. It's beautiful, they did a great job. We have a decomposed granite path from the side of the house to the back door, and all the rest of the area is mulch and several plants. My issue is that the invoice I received is very "general". See photo. I requested via text message a more in depth invoice after the fact, and was told by Nick that "that would be it." I see no evidence that I got the Angie's List deal, nor any credit whatsoever for the plants I provided instead of using his. Looking back, had I purchased the package through the website itself, perhaps he'd have a better accounting of the various aspects of the job. We have one of four sections of the backyard now complete, and to be honest, I don't believe we'll be using this company again. It's a huge yard, and a very costly endeavor. We just want to know where our money goes/went."

"Radici Landscape Restoration is the only company I will rely on for my future landscape needs. Paul Everett, the owner has an in-depth knowledge of plants and irrigation, reasonable prices, and a strong work ethic. For decades, the "gardeners" I've hired were disappointing...but not Paul. My neighbor asked me who the man was, working so hard for me every time he looked out his window. You won't be disappointed with Paul Everett of Radici Landscape Restoration. He's a cut above all the rest."

"It went perfectly !! I purchased an $80 Comprehensive Sprinkler Tune-Up Special through Angie's list and was contacted a few days later by Roland Zamora of Veterans Landscaping, Inc., to arrange an appointment. Roland was very friendly, reassuring and professional on the phone. On 06/12/'17, Roland came to my home, exactly on time (11:30am as pre-arranged), fully identified himself and with ME in tow, began his inspection. He turned on each of my 8 sprinkler zones and observed their operation. He made notes as we went around, adjusted some of the sprinkler heads right then and there, cleaned out some of the sprinkler heads and made note of 4 soaker heads that were not operating at all in my front flower beds. With ME in tow and asking all kinds of questions, Roland completed his inspection and adjustments and then discussed the replacement of the 4 soaker sprinkler heads. The 4 heads were replaced, a couple of more adjustments made and a couple of more sprinkler heads were cleaned out. Roland did not charge me any extra for the 4 soaker sprinkler heads, even though I offered to pay for them. Roland also set my controller for the exact days and times that I wanted the sprinklers to come on. Roland is very friendly, easy to talk to, very professional, honest, trustworthy, up front and answers every question with full knowledge and professionalism. No question is to insignificant nor to involved for Roland to stop what he's doing and fully answer the question to full understandability. I WILL recommend Roland Zamora of Veterans Landscaping Inc. for sprinkler services and landscaping needs to my family members, friends and neighbors. I will hire Roland again for any future sprinkler or landscaping problems. BobH Garden Grove, CA"

Exterior Lighting questions, answered by experts

Outdoor lighting repairs typically take between 1-3 hours. The exact duration can vary depending on factors such as the complexity of the problem, the extent of the damage, and the ease of access to the lighting fixtures and wiring.

Table lamps, floor lamps, chandeliers, desk lamps, and antique or decorative light fixtures that hold sentimental or aesthetic value are commonly repaired.

Professional repairs involve diagnosing issues, replacing components, rewiring, or repositioning fixtures to restore optimal performance.

Options include pathway lights, spotlights, and smart lighting systems. Choose based on function and aesthetics.

While wet-rated and damp-rated lighting is designed to handle contact with moisture, there’s a difference between the two. Wet-rated lighting is safety-rated to be placed in areas with direct exposure to water, including your shower. Fixtures classed as wet-rated are made with waterproof seals to protect the filament and other electrical components from water and moisture.

Damp-rated fixtures can be used in places with some moisture contact, but not direct exposure. They don’t have the same waterproof seals used in wet-rated fixtures. Damp-rated lighting can be used on your bathroom ceiling or along a wall outside of your shower.
