"Dave Rogers did a terrific job of repairs various sections of fence. He was very reliable and thorough and is very talented in handling these kinds of repairs. We were very pleased with the final results and would highly recommend him to others needing similar work done."

"Excellent! I could not have asked for a better crew. JT, Shaun, Pedro and Kayla were my direct contacts and all were very professional. Western Pacific Roofing came to the rescue just before this last big rain. They were not prepared to repair my roof upon first observation, however, they were able to secure the exposed area so as not to allow further damage from the impending rain storms. We survived the rain, they returned the next business day after the rains. Roof is repaired and I’m completely satisfied with my overall experience. Western Pacific Roofing has become my go to company for all of my properties’ roofing needs..."

"

I am a single woman and we all know that many contractors like to take advantage of the lack of knowledge one might have in this area.   I interviewed many contractors for my project and found most to be substandard (to say the least) to my needs.  I found Bernal Construction from the time I first contact them to be very professional. Their Project Manager, Louise Williams is on top of her game from beginning to end.   It was a delight to work with her on this project.  She made sure that every thing was on track with this project which was delightful, since I was not in town for most of this remodel.  I knew I could depend on her. The owner, Raul Bernal is not only a great craftsman but insists that every detail of the project be up to his standards, which are high.  Both Raul and Louise are detail oriented and insisted that the job was perfect before giving their final blessing and handing me my final bill.  And even though the final payment was made, every time I call with a minor issue, they have been right here to correct.  I have felt very safe and secure not only with them but with their whole team of craftsmen. Thanks for inviting me into your family and for all the hard work!  GOOD JOB ALL, and I love the end result.

"Mark meticulously went through every inch of this antique from top to bottom and repaired all structural damage incurred over the last 260 years to include everything from small worm holes, to cracks on the table top and drop leaves, warps, loose joints, pegs and butterfly joints. He made it structurally sound to last another 260 years without changing any of the rich 260 year old character and charm. This is truly an amazing museum piece and family heirloom to last another lifetime."

"Precise did a great job ultimately and delivered a beautiful home for us. We knocked out a wall, did a balcony, put outside stamped concrete in, extended a room, put a new powder room in, redid the stairs, refloored the house, and closed in a room upstairs. We were very prompt with our payments and in return they stayed on schedule. Near the end we made our final payment even though there was more work to be done. Once the owner of Precise found out about the work it was done within a week. We had problems with the air conditioning, plumbing, and other things and precise always came through and fixed it. All of the little details that we complained about they addressed and fixed them. If it is in the contract, you can trust that they will get it done and do a great job of it. Unlike other contractors, they had someone working on our house almost every single day. No excuses. Once they started, they attacked it. The new kitchen is modern and beautiful. They are extremely good at holding your hand through the process. They helped design it and came up with alternatives to make us happy whenever an obstacle got in the way. They worked with us closely on decorating and design decisions. We definitely would recommend them, but do your homework before getting bids. As with all construction, quite a few things came up that required us to spend more money. They way underbid on lighting (underbid by 17 lights), never mentioned that we would need cork (add $4,000)under our upstairs flooring, created situation that forced us to redo backyard concrete to get proper drainage($20,000), killed our backyard grass, ruined part of our sprinkler system, they mentioned they could do a few different design items that were left out of the contract and later re-mentioned as change orders, and we had to pay extra $4000 for relocating a pipe that they missed in the original bid. In their defense, none of the change orders were listed in the actual contract so I was forced to pay the extra amount. My disappointment was that most of the change orders were something that should have been in the original bid. I had to pay for my ignorance. Overall we are still very happy with the Precise staff as people and LOVE our new home. If I was more diligent in the initial contract reading I could have avoided a lot of the issues. I am told by others that all construction contractors do change orders and generate more revenue, but I was not prepared for it and at my absolute limit on spending. This is the only reason we gave them a 4 star and not a five star. Their work and the people themselves are five star most definitely. Cannot complain at all about the actual job itself. They did a fantastic job and were an absolute pleasure to work with . We always felt like they paid immediate attention to us. They made us feel like their only clients. They really made us feel like they wanted to make us happy and meet all of our needs. We plan on doing our bathrooms in the future and we will definitely be having them bid the jobs. We would not hesitate to work with them again. Ultimately after all said and done, you will definitely be happy with their design, construction and finished product. I will let you know that I have already recommended them to two different people I know getting their kitchens and bathrooms redone."

"They are hands down the best investment I ever made in my life. I had a very odd shaped area that I needed fenced off, but I have a very modern looking house. He came and took measurements within two days. He then came back with the final measurements with his welder. It was so fast. He had these 9' beautiful fences. They powder coat them to the color you want. His design is awesome. The property line is a little angled, so the fences wouldn't fit because the metal is so tall, so they went overnight and welded a new piece. It is so nice. After that, it was so good, I had them redo my garage door in the same style. That again, took nine business days. It was just perfect. It sounds expensive, but these were big gates. They ran 25' of fencing and then another 7' on one side. They also put in two doors that have deadbolts, with many angles. It's not just an average garage. My house was built in the 1920's, so they went way beyond. It wasn't like putting on a new door, they had to build a new steel frame, and then they had to inset it into the roof line. It was so much more than you could ever expect. I can't stop talking about it. They were just so good. They put two working barn doors on the garage with separate locks. It is very detailed. They were so professional. It's so hard to find in LA people that you want to work with again. They are going to do a 30' fence along the back of my house, so I will be using them again in a couple of months. I don't know how much more I could gush about them. I had been avoiding doing the work because I'm use to people coming up with excuses. They were just problem solvers. They were fixing problems and making them work versus trying to up charge you after the fact. It was very straightforward and the price didn't change. I think they did more work than they initially thought, but there was no haggle on the price or anything."

Welding questions, answered by experts

The cost to weld aluminum averages about $14 to $22 per pound. The type of metal factors into the overall cost of any welding project due to the cost of the materials and the expertise required to work with it. Some of the most common metals used by welders include:

  • Magnesium alloy: $7–$16 per pound

  • Low-carbon steel: $11–$12 per pound

  • Stainless steel: $13–$15 per pound

  • Copper/brass: $24–$29 per pound

  • Cast iron: $38–$79 per pound

  • Titanium: $60–$85 per pound

The average cost for a welding project is about $300, with typical costs ranging from $125 to $490. However, prices can be as low as $125 for very small jobs or exceed $1,200 for large or complex projects. Welders typically charge an hourly rate between $65 and $150, depending on their experience, and many charge a minimum fee to cover overhead and travel expenses. The total cost is influenced by several factors, including labor, the cost of materials like metal rods and shielding gas, the type of metal being welded, the project's size and complexity, and your geographic location. For a precise quote, it's best to ask a local welder for an estimate based on your specific project.

The best thing to cut metal pipe is a durable pipe cutter that is made for metal. You may want to measure the diameter of the pipes before purchasing a pipe cutter to ensure it will be able to cut your metal pipes. Opt for a heavy-duty option to cut through metal like steel or cast iron.

Yes, you can use a saw to cut metal pipes. The best saw to use is a reciprocating saw, but even a fine-tooth hacksaw can get the job done. No matter which saw you use to cut metal pipes, wear protective gear, like work gloves, safety goggles, and ear plugs. Apply a firm, steady pressure to the tool, and always ensure the pipes are secured so they don't move while you make the cuts.

This all depends on the tools you have on hand and whether you’re trying to cut a straight line or shapes.

The best tool to use for straight lines is either a circular saw or table saw. When cutting shapes, a jigsaw will be the easiest and most precise tool to use.
