"Excellent move! These guys coped really well with changing requirements and a more-difficult-than-anticipated move. They were honest about everything, and handled our stuff with care. They spent like 2x the time they expected to and still counted the hours in our favor. An item got broken during the trip and they were quick to point it out and they will repair or replace it. Always get insurance! There was no damage to either building during the move. I think that the dispatcher might have underestimated the scale of the job a little bit (I know that we underestimated, too, so part of that might be our fault), so the truck they dispatched for this move was just slightly too small so it was a bit cramped. That's no problem for us, but if you're planning on moving, maybe try and be extra generous with your estimate."

Regardless of the short notice, they were extremely responsive and were able to accommodate my tight schedule. Honestly, I could not have done this move without them -- they relieved so much stress off my back and made the whole process smooth sailing! They let me use their plastic crates for my move, delivering them two days before and allowing me to keep them for five days after. "I promised Erica to give her a great review, because she gave me good service and she has great listening skills. Looking back at the movers in hindsight, they were 1.5 hours late, they encouraged me to relax, take care of my back, don’t tire myself and let them do the work. If I’d done that I would have been way longer than the 3.5 hours it took to get everything done. I worked just as hard as them and they turned their noses up at the tip I gave them. One reason why I started doing other things and taking stuff to the truck is because I realized they were going too slow for the 2 hours we were supposed to be working under. I ended up paying way more than the estimate when they were way past the 2pm start time, was that a hustle? Plus by the time we got to my complex, the area to unload was closed and we had to unload a more difficult way. The tip, while highly and over emphasized, is a SUGGESTED tip. Stretching out the moving time is a bad strategy for big tips, being 1.5 hours late doesn’t help either. One of the drivers’ names was Ishmael, he bitched the loudest and I talked to him the most during the move. Shop around guys and don’t get sucked in by a good deal that may be too good to be true. The crazy part is, if I had paid the price they (movers) wanted, they wouldn’t have gotten a tip, period. I hate ungrateful people, especially when we were laughing and talking all day until I gave them the tip, now I wish I had just kept my $40."

I highly recommend Quantum Moving; they gave me a great rate and great service and far exceeded my expectations. From my sales person (Dan), to the driver (Don), to the two crews who picked up, they were all polite, careful with my belongings (nothing scratched or damaged,) and respectful. Give them a call -- you'll be dealing with an independent mover, not some impersonal, national chain and you'll feel the difference in the service. I'm sure that they would be great for a local move, however, I used them for a move between Palo Alto and La Jolla. They picked up on time one morning and delivered on time the next morning despite a horrendous overnight rainstorm. (I would have understood completely if they had been delayed.) I've moved a lot over my lifetime, and this is the best moving experience I've had by far. Give them a call!"
