"The crew very polite and informative. The whole house generator installed in one day and my place was left clean. The installation project was done in a cosmetic pleasing manner and no ugly pipes or wires are visible. I was given a detailed cost of the project and kept informed at all times. It was not the lowest bid but the work was excellent and I am very happy with the finished project. The office staff are very helpful and their excellent service and detailed bid is why I chose to go with LT Generator."

"Narek did a very thoughtful and careful assessment of the work to done, which yielded a very competitive bid. He clearly explained what he was doing. He handled the plan check and on-site inspection without me having to taketime off work. I appreciate his punctuality, his clear communication, and his professionalism. My new home was built in the 1930s, so Iâ m sure I will need help with other electrical projects. I will be calling on Albright Electrical, again."

"The whole process, from estimate to follow-up service, was superb. There was an issue with the installed timer. A simple request and the replacement was scheduled for replacement within a week at no charge. A request for an upgrade was also done quickly for a small charge. I highly recommend Martin!"

"Highly Recommended! We have hired Zero Electric to do several jobs at our apartment complex including installing a generator, EV chargers, new panel, and even installing recessed lighting in the units. Generator Install questions, answered by experts

Yes, in some locations, it is required by the National Electric Code (NEC) to have a transfer switch installed for electrical emergencies. In addition to following electrical code, generator transfer switches ensure your home is fully protected during a power outage. By switching the power from the main breaker to the generator breaker, you can seamlessly operate your HVAC, lights, appliances, devices, and more during an emergency.

You can determine what size generator you need for a transfer switch by matching the switch to the largest outlet on your generator. Larger generators can power up to 10 circuits, while most 5,000-watt generators can provide power to six circuits. So, if your generator’s largest outlet is 30 amps, you’ll need a 30-amp transfer switch.

It is safe to run a generator continuously, but you must follow safety protocols to ensure personal and home safety. Read the manufacturer’s instructions for specific recommendations, but the general recommendation is to turn generators off overnight or when you’re away from the house. Overworked generators can pose a fire hazard and if your generator is not in a well-ventilated area, running it continuously could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning.

To power a central air system during a power outage, the whole-house generator will need to be at least 5,000 watts, and this number will significantly increase for larger units. Check the specific wattage requirements of your AC unit to choose the right generator size. Consider consulting a generator installer to ensure your whole-house generator meets your electrical load needs.

It might seem counterintuitive, but installing a generator transfer switch will save you money in the long run. While you’ll have to pay between $400 and $2,500 to have the transfer switch installed, you’ll recoup that amount later on when you don’t have to pay for expensive repairs to your appliances, devices, and electrical system that may have burned out, overloaded, or stopped working due to a sudden loss of power or an incorrect hook up of a generator to your home
