"Due to the clog being connected to my downstairs neighbor & the clog being too far down for the snake to get all of the clog the job could not be completed. I was told due to it being a "common" line that the Association should be responsible for the rest of the clog issue. Not sure if they are going to take care of it though. Other than that I am very pleased with Martin's."

"I have recommended Sabir to all my family, which all 10 used him and all are very satisfied!! We've all recommended him to our friends, family, and co-workers. I'm the Educational Director at a Parent Participation Preschool and Sabir manages all our plumbing needs. I also recommended him to my brothers Adult Center, they had a plumbing emergency and were trying to contact plumbers, with no luck. Sabir came right away and took care of their plumbing emergency :) I'm so grateful for Sabir, he always makes himself available, gives expert advice, excellent service, is wonderful to work with, and continues to amaze me with his knowledge and professionalism. Sabir's plumbing service is overall the best in all aspects and I will continue to recommend him to my community and any business in need."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

A sewage smell in your crawl space is usually from a damaged or clogged pipe leaking sewer gasses or actual sewage underneath your home, but there are some other common causes. Moisture, from poor or damaged encapsulation or a malfunctioning sump pump, can harbor mold and bacteria, causing a musty smell. Pests can also get stuck in your crawl space and die, which causes a sewage-like odor.

There is conflicting advice on whether to leave a baking soda and vinegar mixture in a drain overnight. Some sources suggest it can be effective for tough clogs, recommending that you flush the drain with warm water in the morning as part of a monthly cleaning routine. However, other experts advise against leaving the mixture in for extended periods, as its caustic nature could corrode drainpipes if used too often or left in for too long.

Yes, sewage smells can originate from a floor drain. If the P-Trap in the floor drain dries out or if there's a clog or other issue in the plumbing system, sewer gasses can escape through the drain, causing nasty odors. Regularly pouring water into the drain helps maintain the water seal and prevent those smells, but if the smell persists, you should have a plumbing professional inspect the drain for potential problems.

There are several common signs that your main sewer line may be clogged. Key indicators include multiple fixtures in your home draining slowly, gurgling sounds coming from drains or toilets, and water backing up into showers, sinks, or toilets. You might also notice water backing up from the plumbing system's drain cleanout, water in your basement drain, or unexplained wet patches on your lawn. Foul odors, such as the smell of raw sewage or rotten eggs, are another common symptom. The most reliable way to confirm a main sewer line clog is to hire a professional plumber to perform a camera inspection.

Homeowners insurance usually doesn’t cover sewer backups because it’s typically an avoidable problem with proper maintenance. The only exception would be if the backup is occurring because of local flooding and only if your city uses a combined drainage system for stormwater and sewage. If that’s the case, your policy should cover any resulting damage.
