Limewash can be removed from brick, but the method of removal will depend on how long the limewash has been on the brick. If the limewash has fully dried—which happens after about five days—you’ll need to use a diluted muriatic acid mixture to remove it. Removing a wallpaper border requires the same process to remove full walls of wallpaper. Clear the area, spray down the surface with your hot water and vinegar solution or store-bought spray, wait 10 to 15 minutes, then scrape it off with a putty knife. Sometimes, border wallpaper lifts easier than larger sheets, so you can just peel it right off the wall by hand.

The simple nature of peel and stick wallpaper means it should come off much more easily than traditional wallpaper that is glued to your walls. You’ll still want to work slowly and carefully to avoid tearing it, but most peel and stick wallpaper should come off without a chemical agent to loosen it.
