- Shefer Builder INCUpdate: I was not paid to give a review and I did utilize and hire Shefer Builders for a total remodel. Remodeling can be stressful. So many decisions and expenses. We thought about it several years. We researched, planned, saved and interviewed several companies. We wanted a general contractor that could handle all our needs (one stop). We met with Yani of Shefer Builder twice. We shared our budget, our wants, and our concerns. It’s important you find someone you feel comfortable with and can have confidence in. It’s your home after all. He made us feel excited about the possibilities and his portfolio was extensive. He had loads of ideas and thoughtful ways and places we could make our dreams come true. We’d lived in our 1950s home for 20 years. Everything needed updating. From the roof down to new flooring, new windows, doors, outside stucco, and a gorgeous new open floor plan kitchen (removed a wall) and bathroom! We couldn’t be happier now! The end result is amazing. It looks like something in a magazine. Yet very livable. Yani helped with choosing wall colors, tile, flooring and fixtures. They built a new master walk-in closet with custom organizers. Added crown molding and pocket lights throughout and durable pretty flooring. During the process Yani stayed in touch constantly and sent pictures of the progress. If we had a question he was very responsive in returning a call or text. He stayed within our budget and even found places to save us money. We joke if we win the lotto we’ll have Shefer Builder back to add a second story. We’d be happy to provide more info
- Aqua Dream PoolsSteve and his pool team are on point. Steve has his pool installation process down and things flowed smoothly. He was quick to respond if questions arose and he followed up throughout the process to make sure things were going well. Side-note: I recommend choosing your tile and coping early in the process so it can be ordered and ready to go. Our coping wasn’t in stock (no fault of Steve’s) but waiting for it to come in put a hold on our project for a bit. We are very happy with the end result and our family is enjoying the new pool! My house is about 80 years old; I discovered that there was a leak from a (nearly) roof top patio down into the dining room below, Ben came and assessed the situation, and was very up front about the price being determined by what they might find after they pulled up the patio flooring, and unfortunately it was kind of a mess under there. Ben explained the process and pricing very clearly and set up the different crews for each layer of the the tear out and reinstall. They were great about working with my schedule and it got done pretty quickly especially for a multi step project. Everyone was very polite, cleaned up and carted away any debris after every layer and they were even very nice to my dog, (who can be a little annoying ) it looks good now and I am confident that the waterproofing is solid. Will definitely rehire them for for future projects!

"We felt that the price was a little high but it is hard to tell because we went through our general contractor and we needed a deck and retaining wall. We did decide to upgrade some of the pool equipment and we have been happy with the results.
<br /> We have a few spots where the PebbleTec is lifting off of the pool but we have not contacted Adam's yet regarding it. I have every confidence that they will resolve it once we contact them.

"We solicited about 4 different quotes - all through Angie's list. We chose Bruce Hamilton because he had a vision for how the work could be done and he was very willing to partner with us on ideas. This made a big difference because it was a very difficult job and we wanted someone with experience that we could trust. Also, Bruce was very professional and easy to talk to. We felt he would listen to us. The estimate he gave was in the ballpark of the others. But overall we just felt he would do a better job. That is why we hired him.
<br /> Well, all I can say is that everything was done extremely well. The work started on time and finished in two weeks. The crew was very hard working, courteous and reliable. The cost was within the estimate. Bruce took the time to really understand what plants we liked. He even took a walk in our neighborhood with us so we could point out our favorites to him. He has a keen eye for design and was able to guide the landscaping on the terraces so that it all blended really well together. The final thing we were extremely happy with was how the crew cleaned up after themselves. It rained a few days during their work and the mud got smeared on our driveway, the street in front of our house and on some concrete slabs in our back yard. The crew cleaned everything up - including the street. It was extremely clean and back to normal.
