"He gave us an estimate then went to Home Depot to get supplies, for which we paid. He spread a drop cloth on entry pavement. He removed old pain pieces on frame, cut the screen he bought in half and screwed them to the bottom of each door. He then spray painted the doors white. The doors needed more paint, so he went to Home Depot again and bought additional cans of paint (12 in total). I got sick from the paint smell, so my sister took over. When he finished she paid him. When I was able to inspect the job, I saw a hole in one doors screen and long screws sticking out 3/4" on both screens. I sent hime a text message to his phone, but got no response, so I phoned him to discuss the matter. He said his drill slipped punching to hole in the screen and that's the only screws he had. He said the screen is too expensive to replace and the screws are it. He said he"

It is not normal to smell your septic outside and indicates a problem such as an unsealed manhole or access lid, a clogged septic line, a faulty vent stack, or the need for a septic tank pumping. A household of four can easily fill a 1,000-gallon septic tank within a week. It may be 10 to 14 days for smaller households. But the reason why you don't need weekly pumping is because the tank's contents eventually reach the overflow pipe. They flow down this pipe to the absorption area whenever water is used in your home. The tank keeps working at this full level until it's pumped again.

Never use Drano on blocked toilets. You can end up with a ghastly leak because the chemicals eat away at the glue that holds pipes together just as effectively as they do with clogs. Drano is known for being particularly rough on toilets, which is why some plumbers actually dislike the product. 

Your septic tank may be full or clogged if you notice household drains that are backed up, draining slowly, or gurgling; greener, lusher grass around the septic system; pooling water in your yard; or smelling sewage odors outdoors.
