"This is a lot of references rolled into one. Mitch from The Carpet Store in Sylmar certainly doesn’t have a glossy showroom, but has everything, is a good person and works with a lot of contractors. When I asked for a reference, Mitch said that flooring is the last step on a lot of renovation jobs. The contractor he doesn’t hear complaints about is Tony of TME. I also checked Houzz and the other websites and they say the same thing that I’m saying here. If you can, work with TME. Tony is a human buzz saw. He is always there, works hard, fast, meticulously and at a reasonable cost. That is just great but there is more. It was fun to work with Tony. (His sense of humor can be a real groaner, but, much as I hate to admit it, I’m still smiling.) He is honest, genuinely cares about what you want, the quality of the work and the schedule. He brought in a group of workers who were a pleasure to have in the house and who had been with him for years. I also recommend using his advice. He is smart and experienced and has a very good eye about what is going to work and look good. I had a complicated project. Work was needed on damage from past leaks, mold checking (a science in its own right) and 2 1/2 bathroom remodels. He did everything meticulously to code. The results were just beautiful. Tony became a friend, and I will certainly keep working with him."

"Monty does excellent work. I needed a window AC installed which involved some custom fitting and mounting. I have a sliding window from left to right instead of up and down so to do a clean install was more involved than a traditional up down sliding window. I believe Monty went above and beyond to make sure the work was quality and addressed all my concerns. He made sure the whole installation was well sealed off using generous amounts of silicone.I highly recommend him for any handyman work you might need accomplished."

"While Michael the owner was responsive when it came to the actual scheduled job he sent a much junior technician whom I certainly did not expect because he did not tell me. They were supposed to contact me before he showed up but there was no advance call, luckily I was home at the time. The tech did his job and was about to just leave without showing/telling me about how it works or what he installed. I had to ask him about the installation so I can be sure I knew how the equipment operated and if there's anything I needed to know about the install. In the end my opinion is the attic fan was a waste of money and my time. We don't notice any difference in the interior temperature of our house when it's hot. When I inquired about a refund (within 30 days of the install), Michael said he would offer $89 refund for the equipment and not the install. And to think if I didn't use Angie's list, this would have cost me several more hundred dollars. An expensive lesson learned!

"Carlos did a great job fixing my gates, painting them and resetting latches so they worked better. This is the second time he has come to fix and paint the gates! At some point I may have to replace part of one gate and I will gladly have him do the work. I really appreciate the fact that he didn’t try to ‘sell me’ on doing it right away since patching and painting would work for now. He also painted a bathroom for me and it looks terrific. Carlos showed up with the paint and managed to prep, paint and clean up in just a few hours! He is very courteous, knowledgeable and efficient and I will certainly use him in the future. He offers very good service at reasonable/fair pricing. I am very pleased with his work and recommend you call him if you need ‘help’ fixing something!"

"This review is from my daughter, who used GM Pacific to replace her entire roof:
I am very happy with the work GM Pacific did on my roof.  Working with Gil was easy: he and his crew are pleasant, always on time, good communicators, and up front about costs.  I purchased the Angie's list deal of $5k off a roof replacement.  Because our roof exceeded square footage for the deal, Gil told me beforehand that I would need to pay an additional $1,800, plus a little over $700 per additional layer of roof removal (only one layer is included in the deal), and an additional amount per square foot if sheeting needed to be replaced as well.  Our 1922 house ended up having 3 roof layers and original wood shingles which needed to be removed and had NO sheeting, so that had to be added from scratch.  These extra costs were charged to us at the rates laid out by Gil before the work began, so there were no surprises.  The total we had to pay in addition to the coupon was about $13,000 because of these extra costs.  We also had Gil install gutters, which were created to fit the house and look great.  That was an extra approx. $1,400.  Gil had a big crew and the entire job took a little over a week.  Everyone was great with cleanup at the end of each day.  Gil also was great in dealing with our Los Angeles city inspectors, who were very strict about new 2015 roofing regulations. Overall, working with Gil was straightforward and easy.  The roof looks great!  I wouldn't hesitate to use GM Pacific again.
