Better Buy Pools Supply

My 10 year old pool heater stopped working. I am a retired general contractor and builder of new homes. I have experience with dishonest subcontractors who seemingly only care about making a quick buck. I called other pool repairmen who only wanted to sell me a new heater. I am convinced that they didn't know how to diagnose a problem and repair it, and besides, replacing the whole thing would make them more money. My wife ran across Scott in a google search. I called him, and there was no salesmanship. We scheduled an appointment. He showed up on time, knew the product, diagnosed it, although it was not an easy diagnosis. He had the parts needed with him. He gave me a price, which I felt, based on my homework, was fair. I agreed to the price, and he did a quick repair, which he warranted for one year. I highly recommend him.

Scott showed up exactly on time. He quickly diagnosed the problem with my heater and was able to fix it in a reasonable amount of time. He’s very knowledgeable and offered me some good tips. He’ll be my go to contractor for pool equipment fixes or installs.

Unfortunately it's been 6 weeks since we hire and paid for the replacement parts needed to fix our heater. The communication from this company has been horrific. We have messaged multiple times with no response at all, other times not in a timely matter. There has been no follow up or follow through on promises. We have a pool party in a couple of days and we can't heat our pool, even though we paid for everything up front 6 weeks ago, and planned the repair early enough so that it would be ready for our party. Bad customer service. Fraudulent credit card charges in that the service has not been provided.

do not hire them! Their opinion is not trustworthy and money motivated.

Scott is an experienced pool professional. He knows what he is doing. His price on a 400K Hayward pool heater was the best. The installation was done quickly and neatly. The customer service he provided was excellent. He went beyond just the pool heater installation when he adjusted the pool pump so that it worked seamlessly with the heater. There are few professionals as honest as Scott. I highly recommend him.

My pool heater was in desperate need of maintenance. Though it was operational, it was emitting eye and throat-irritating fumes. Scott came out and immediately identified the problem. He performed a thorough cleaning that solved the problem. As I had done some preliminary research, I had steadied myself to be presented with a more serious and expensive diagnosis. I am grateful for his integrity and professionalism. I would not hesitate to use this company again and highly recommend them.

It went horribly. A total failure. Scott Berggren, the owner, was very charming up front, sounded like an expert. Sold me on the entire pool remodeling project. Started it, completed it half way, took the entire payment convincing me that he had to purchase materials and equipment. The quality of work up to that point looked good and the work was completed fast, so I did not scrutinize too hard why he asked for the entire project amount. BIG MISTAKE. Right after he got the money, Scott abandoned the project. When I called him, he said he was not in the pool remodeling business any more. I asked for my money back and never heard back from Scott. Turns out his Contractor's License is for only installing pool equipment NOT for pool remodelling. I didn't know there were different types. Do not hire Better Buy Pool Supply and Scott Berggren. He is a thief. The former company name was Specialized Pools. If you want to see true reviews about Scott Berggren - look up that company, as well as Scott Berggren. That company was closed because of the overwhelmingly poor reviews. Scott changed the name to Better Buy Pool Supplies. But is is still Scott Berggren who is cheating his customers out of money.

Please donâ t use this company and I have been a customer since 2014. In May 2021 Scott Berggrens company installed a high efficiency pool pump that came with several rebates. It is now the end of August and I still havenâ t received the rebate papers from Scott Berggren despite several promise that they were in the mail. Am have no choice but to take Scoo Berggren to court for rebates due to me. The office is very unorganized and they seldom answer their phones. I also have discontinued using their service

Do not trust this company with your money. Gave me a used heater. I paid for a new heater. when I requested for a sales invoice. he emailed me someone elses invoice. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

Overall everything went great. My only comment was that communication could have been a little better, I always seemed to have to reach out to get a status update on my project. Other than that though the work was good and price was competitive so I would definitely recommend them.

Great experience. Highly responsive. They replaced my heater, pump & filter. The price was fair, the job was done when promised and was done well.
