Small jobs welcome

"Greg did a great job on the tile work for my fireplace. I highly recommend him. I was under a time constraint and Greg was able to get the work done quickly and with great quality. All for a very fair cost. If you need tile work done Greg is your man!"

Customers say: True professional

"So I spent the last couple weeks scrambling because I was trying to repair and replace a chipped cracked tile in my kitchen from a tenant dropping a very heavy object on it. These are very large format, wood plank porcelain tiles that are 5' x 1 feet and have proven to be very challenging to work with without chipping in the past. I reached out to a couple tile companies and only heard back from one, but they were booked out weeks. I found Jason on Angie's list and not only was he able to squeeze me into his schedule in two days he completed the work like an absolute artist. He was able to surgically remove the tile with ease without cracking any of the surrounding tiles and pop the new one back into a place like a pro. So happy that I reached out to Jason. Though I pray for no more damage by anyone else on the future, I definitely will be hiring him in the future if this ever happens again."

"We were totally pleased with John’s work and expertise. During our home remodel we took two bathrooms back to stud walls and reconfigured the showers and bath. Our description of John’s work in setting the tile is nothing short of artistry! John also laid ceramic floor tiles throughout the house. He was neat and efficient, and we could not be more pleased with the final product."

"We had a large 120 so foot kitchen backsplash floor to ceiling around doors and windows tile job with a very delicate 1-inch diamond shaped penny tile. The tile contractors our general kitchen contractor hires walked off the job and said they couldnâ t work with this tile. Rayo tile saved the day! I got 4 bids that were all pretty close in price. They werenâ t the cheapest but they were the best. Constant communication. Showing up on time. Incredible work and we had a very difficult tile to work with. Cleaned their workspace. These guys are professionals like all contractors should be. Hire them."

"The workmanship was top-notch. Had about 1,000 sqft of Italian tile work done and it was perfect: Furniture moved, removal, tile and molding laid in great symmetry, 1/16 gap even throughout, price reasonable, and clean up was good. Just be patient with how long it will take-- perfection does take time. Now it looks beautiful. Thank you."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Granite countertops cost an average of $3,250 compared to $2,250 for tile countertops. Granite is also harder to DIY than tile, given its weight and bulk, which increases the overall labor cost of installation. Over time, both types of countertops may need sealing to remain resistant to water, heat, and other common kitchen elements.

Different types of tile cutters may work best depending on the type of tile you are cutting and the size of your project. There are two main types of tile cutters: manual and electric. Manual tile cutters are quick and easy to use for small projects and softer tile materials, but they can only make straight cuts. Electric tile cutters make light work of big projects and can cut through harder materials.

Many homeowners have successfully retiled a bathroom themselves. It can be a challenging but rewarding process, but it’s best for someone who already has at least intermediate DIY skills.

Porcelain countertops have a fairly long life span, sometimes lasting for decades. Depending on how much wear and tear you put your countertops through, it could last 25 to 50 years. But be warned, porcelain is also prone to cracking, so as long as you take good care of it, you’ll have those countertops looking brand new for years to come.

Yes, it’s always a good idea to keep a box or two of spare tiles after a home renovation project. Tiles can crack from improper installation, heavy foot traffic, and impact from drops. Having some extra tile on hand can make replacement fast, easy, and affordable. Plus, some manufacturers might discontinue particular colors or styles, and slight variations in tile colors between batches could mean mismatched tiles even if your product isn’t discontinued. Having a few spare tiles in storage can help avoid these issues, as well.
