He was very knowledgeable and made it feel like he was helping us come up with some great ideas. Some of the other contractors that came to the house and gave us quotes were pretty stingy when it came to creative ideas, they didn't really allow us to put to much of our input in. But that was not the case with So Cal Builders, it was really nice to feel like we were being heard and they had some fantastic ideas and found ways to save us money. "Mark was very responsive whenever I reached out to him, but there was no follow-through on his part. He came out to my house to talk about scope, but seemed distracted and left without getting the full job scope from me. After a week without receiving the estimate, I checked in with him and he gave me a reason for the delay that was understandable.
A month after, I checked in with him again. He wanted to come out to my house a second time. I responded by sending a document detailing the work we wanted to complete, and told him to let me know if he still felt it was necessary to come out a second time. It's a month later now with no response. We went with a different contractor.
One thing to Mark's credit, he seems knowledgeable and has good contacts in the industry. We might consider him in the future for less critical work, but I was pretty disappointed that he didn't seem to take me seriously as a potential client.
