"Dave Gilbert and Sunshine Flooring are top notch. Friendly, helpful, professional and easy to work with. We thought we needed a floor repair, but it turned out our existing floor needed to be removed and replaced. In spite of the extra work, Dave's crew got the job done in accordance with the initial time frame. We are very pleased with the new floor. It matches perfectly! We will use them again if anything else comes up. I highly recommend them."

"The bathroom tile job is very high quality work. Juan corrected some wall imperfections, suggested some aesthetic improvements to the original tile layout, and completed all the work at a good pace. He was able to start within a few days, and kept me apprised of the progress and changes to the schedule. The work is simply beautiful, and I am very pleased with the quality of workmanship and the look of the final result. Juan was polite, considerate and put in honest days' work each day of the job, breaking the work into sensible stages to prevent interfering with or disturbing tiles that needed to set before it was wise to work in an adjacent area. I will definitely call Juan for my next tile job, He was very easy to work with and could not have been nicer."

"Kouzman was very diligent and always showed up on time. He finished the job when he said he would finish. The floors look great! He had good suggestions about things like moldings and stains. He is a straight shooter and hard worker. He also was very good about making our upstairs as livable as possible during the entire project. I Liked him so much I will use him again to do my floors at my cabin in Tahoe. - Koji"

"Chai is the best. He is very knowledgeable, organized and hardworking person. I’m really very impressed by his quality of work. He is very professional and he knows exactly what to do and how to do it. He installed the floor in my house in just 3 days and it was just perfect. He didn’t waste any floor material. If I do any floor related work in future, Chai would be the person. Thank you Chai for your help!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, marble floors do increase home values. In fact, if you install marble flooring in your home, you can expect to double your investment. Homebuyers love marble, like other types of stone flooring, because it’s timeless, beautiful, wears well, and is considered a luxury product. Marble is expensive to install, but if your house and location attract buyers looking for luxurious, upscale vibes, adding marble flooring can only raise your property value and give you a great return on your investment.

New flooring costs quite a bit, so longevity is important to think about. Concrete generally has the longest life span, but it’s not always a good solution for homes with wooden subfloors. That said, hardwood floors and stone floors can last up to 100 years, and you can refinish or restore them to remove imperfections from daily wear.

Carpeting has a few benefits on stairs in addition to being a cost-effective floor covering. It absorbs sound, dampening footsteps. It also provides additional traction, which is especially important if you install linoleum floors, epoxy flooring, or any other floor covering that can become slippery if you’re wearing socks. Therefore, carpets can help prevent slips.

The lifespan of tile flooring can vary significantly based on the material and maintenance. Generally, tile flooring can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years, but high-quality, well-maintained ceramic tile can last 75 to 100 years. To achieve a longer lifespan, you should clean the tiles and grout regularly, reseal the grout annually, keep the floor dry, and avoid placing extremely heavy items on it to prevent cracking. Choosing a high-quality tile (Grade 1) will also contribute to its longevity.

Avoid steam cleaning unsealed hardwood, vinyl, and laminate floors unless the manufacturer explicitly states that a steam mop can be used.
