"Our attic developed mold after years of small roof leaks that we kept patching temporarily. LeakSafe Homes handled the mold remediation in our Calabasas home with incredible professionalism. They removed contaminated insulation, treated the wood framing, and helped us understand how ventilation contributed to the issue. Very knowledgeable company."

"We were happy to find Tommy and his crew. We had some water damage in the lower level of our home after the heavy rains this year. We had mold in the carpet and water coming in through the porous tile. Tommy gave us a fair quote and their staff handled the process professionally. There were no surprise charges and the crew showed up on time and the office quickly responded to our emails. They did the build back after the mold remediation and we could not be happier with the way it turned out. They did a beautiful job. I highly recommend Pure Restoration if you are dealing with a mold takeover in in your home!"

"The tech arrived promptly and was friendly and super helpful. He explained what the issue was and what needed to be done to repair the damage. He was efficient in the repairs and got my job done in a timely matter. I have had no many issues with contractors in the past and was very weary, but I had zero problems with Omega. It’s good to know there are experienced contractors that can an excellent job and are honest. I would highly recommend Omega Contracting!"

"This is my first time leaving a review for a company as I've never felt the need to, but using Pacific Environmental I feel I should share with my home owners. My husband and I bought out first home which we love but a room had acoustic ceiling. I reach out to PEAS, which everyone in the office was very helpful and patient on guiding me through this experience. Their scheduling was amazing as I was dealing with Closing Escrow and moving my family in. Once they arrived, they informed me on the scope of work and what they would be doing and what to expect, this being my 8-year-old son room so I was a bit worried on hazardous material that was being removed and used. CONTAINMENT WAS AMAZING! I was so happy and felt so safe on how they kept the area and the protection they took to take care of my family and themselves. My kids thought the crew looked pretty cool too, haha. CLEANING WAS AMAZING! Work was conducted upstairs and they went the extra mile and cleaned everything they touched, I really appreciate that, as it again made me feel secure and safe. PEAS left a memorial memory our kids still talk about. I strongly recommend them and would use them again."

"Armando was excellent to work with before during and after the junk hauling process. He was patient to explain everything. No hidden fees. Very considerate when I needed to reschedule. He worked with me and offered recommendations from trailer sizes I needed to what was the most efficient way to remove certain junk. He's truly an expert and a professional."

Biohazard Remediation FAQs, answered by experts

In some cases, yes, insulating an unheated garage can lead to mold and mildew. The issue with insulating a garage is that the interior will warm up and cool down more slowly than the exterior air, which can cause condensation inside the space. Where there is moisture, there is likely to be mold and mildew over time. Installing a vapor barrier can help avoid moisture and mildew problems in an insulated garage.

Once again, contact with moisture is the culprit here, though water-resistant varieties of wallpaper are less likely to become wet and develop mold. Using a high-quality exhaust fan or dehumidifier and leaving the doors or windows cracked after bathing will keep this issue at bay.

You might be wondering, “Is laminate flooring toxic?” The product does contain formaldehyde, which is found in the resins used to bind the wood fibers together. But the chance of overexposure and adverse reactions, such as allergy- or asthma-like symptoms, is low unless you are exposed to formaldehyde in other places, i.e., if you work with formaldehyde regularly outside the home. Keep in mind, too, that many household products have the potential to pose a health hazard, such as cleaning products.

Yes, exposure to fiberglass insulation can cause harm to your skin and eyes. However, this typically refers to the fiberglass insulation that is mostly used in walls and attics. Fiberglass doors don’t pose risks for fiberglass exposure because they're fully encased in polymer cladding.

Mold loves a moist environment, so the best way to keep it from returning is to keep your machine as dry as possible. Take laundry out of the machine as soon as you can after a cycle finishes. If your laundry room is humid, consider using a dehumidifier or at least running a fan to increase airflow.

It's also a good idea to leave the washing machine door open when it's not in use, to improve airflow and keep the interior dry.
