"Derek arrived promptly, professionally, and courteously to install two TVs in my new home. He meticulously inspected his work while performing his duties, and I’m confident that I’ll hire him again for any future projects."

"Joe is hard working, diligent, and honest. I hired him 1) to put up an antenna for local tv service and 2) to fix poor wifi signals. TV was converted from cable rapidly using leftover wires. Saving $ not paying for cable and streaming off wifi. Great signal strength! WiFi was harder. He worked with ATT to determine my new iMac was sucking signals. He installed a more powerful router that solved wifi issues when iMac is off. Now I have to work with Apple to figure out how to manage the computer searching. I would not hesitate to call Joe back again. He is an excellent technician and a fine person. He is pretty busy, so sometimes it takes a few days before he can come out, but he is worth the wait."

"Johnny gave me a fair written estimate based on a set pricing sheet before he left my home during the estimate visit. I was able to schedule a Friday installation appt the day before (Thursday morning). He installed my replacement chandelier exactly as I specified, and alerted me as to code requirements for my planned ceiling remodel. I would definitely use Emard's again."

"Thank goodness I found Bramer Electric!!! I went through 4 electricians who refused to hang the chandelier in my front entrance due to the ceiling height. Chris and team made it look easy and completed the job quite quickly and thoroughly. It looks beautiful! They also installed new switches throughout the home as well as upgraded light fixtures in my kitchen and master bedroom. They hung my son’s new ceiling fan - which he loves. Every chandelier was put together perfectly and looks fantastic! I cannot recommend them more highly!!"

"That is what I paid and then they were here for actually 3 hours because there were two ladies. My house is not easy to deal with, in fact the only reason I didn't do it immediately when I did is, I have a little business thing I do and I've got a lot of stuff in my way and I have degeneration in my spine. It is just hard for me to do things. So I mainly had them do the bathrooms for me and the kitchen and stuff like that. I felt bad because I would have loved to have had them do even more but there was just too much stuff in the way. I kind of feel like I really should have guided them more, but at the time I was busy doing other things so I didn't really have them do some of the things like say in the bathroom, the scrubbing and stuff. I really should have paid closer attention. They are really nice ladies and they did a good job. I would have them back again. I was satisfied with what they did. They were here on time."

"Northwest Electrical contacted me immediately and was able to schedule an appt. within a couple of days. Upon Bill"s (owner) arrival, the damage was more extensive and required additional work. Initially, I needed to replace a wall outlet due to a small fire but the main switch was also damaged and needed to be replaced. I also wanted to install a baseboard heater & thermostat in addition to the other repairs. Bill provided excellent service over and above my expectations by making a 100 mile round trip to obtain the necessary supplies to complete the job. His price was very competitive and his work timely."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

A whole-house fan will not allow you to control your home's temperature and keep it at a specific temperature like a traditional AC unit would. You rely on the night and morning weather to cool your home down efficiently. Also, whole-house fans can be loud and may allow cold air to enter your home in the winter. They also require penetrations through your exterior walls or roof, which could invite water and pests in if they aren’t installed properly.

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.

The direction your ceiling fan spins helps create comfortable airflow in your home and can also help cut down on energy costs.

During summer, your ceiling fan should spin counterclockwise. This will push cooler air downward in a column and help lower your room’s air temperature. In the winter, set your ceiling fan to spin clockwise and at the lowest speed setting. This will pull cool air upwards, displacing the warm air that pools towards the top of your ceiling and bringing it down towards the floor.

Most ceiling fans have a lifespan of anywhere from five to 15 years or 10 years on average. Just how long your ceiling fan lasts depends on the quality of the parts, how much it’s used, and how well you maintain it. A fan with a weak motor that runs on the medium setting nonstop is likely to have a shorter lifespan compared to a fan with a powerful motor that runs on the slowest setting for air circulation.

Ceiling fans are very often worth the investment because they improve comfort in your living space and help reduce utility bills. In the late spring and early fall—and even in the summer in some areas—homeowners with ceiling fans can often get away with open windows and fans, which can cut down on cooling bills and also reduce wear and tear on the HVAC system. Over time, ceiling fans can pay for themselves by saving you money on electric bills and air conditioner repair and maintenance.
