"William & Michael were excellent workers & took great care of our 3 sliding glass doors & one kitchen window project. Even though they will have to return to replace one cracked frame on one of our sliding doors, we are looking forward to seeing them again in the future! Very professional, realistic in project timing, & kept communication flowing throughout their time in our home. Very trustworthy & great, hard workers!"

"Dave, the service guy arrived right on time and started checking out the door & track. He removed the door & found the rollers were in good shape, not worn, but very clogged with dirt. One of the rollers was frozen and would not turn at all. Dave cleaned, lubed & adjusted the rollers, cleaned the track and re-installed the door. It now operates as smoothly as when first new. Dave also showed me where to oil periodically to keep the rollers operating smoothly."

"The technician knew what to do immediately, and replaced our thermostat promptly within about 2 hours (including time to order and pick up the replacement part). Price was a bit high, but I was not really in a position to negotiate."

"Kevin promptly scheduled a day to come out and measure my dual pane windows glass for an estimate. The pricing was very reasonable. He was able to get the glass replacement done fairly quickly and did an awesome job. I will definitely recommend his services"

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Window screen repair costs an average of $310, with a typical range of $100 to $480. The final price depends on several factors, including the window size, accessibility, screen type, whether the frame needs replacement, and especially the screen material.

The cost of window screen materials varies widely based on durability and features:

  • Fiberglass: $35–$200

  • Aluminum: $50–$300

  • Copper: $90–$850

  • Stainless Steel: $45–$400

  • Brass: $100–$900

  • Solar: $55–$850

  • Security: $100–$1,000

  • Vinyl: $25–$120

Costs also differ by screen type. For instance, a prefabricated screen might cost only $40, moveable screens typically run $25 to $75, and retractable screens range from $300 to $900. To save money, you can choose more affordable materials like vinyl or fiberglass, opt to rescreen instead of replacing the entire frame, and have multiple screens repaired at once to reduce labor costs.

The best type of window screen for your home depends on your region and your family’s needs. While fiberglass window screens are a popular, affordable, and easy-to-find choice, you may be looking for different benefits, such as a more high-end look, increased strength, or extended durability. The best window screen meets the demands of your home and its residents while staying within your budget.

Yes, a variety of screen materials cut out glare from the sun. Solar screen material can block up to 90% of the glare and heat from the sun, saving on cooling costs. It also offers privacy yet unlimited outward visibility. The cost depends on the size of the screen roll, but solar screens cost between $25 and $90 per roll.

Yes, if you have ventilated skylights, you can install insect screens on them. Insect screens for skylights cost $10 to $50 each, depending on their size and quality. Most pros highly recommend insect screens for ventilated skylights because they keep pests outside of your home while allowing fresh air inside.

A screened-in porch requires maintenance to keep the screens clean and in good shape, and you may have to do some screen repair or replacement from time to time. A screen porch isn’t an all-season porch, so the weather can get in, including wind and rain.
