Corrected damage to my valley oaks which had been crucified by another service; corrected structural damage to a huge old Redwood and thinned out it and its adjacaent friend; thinned and pruned my mulberry, gingko and liquid amber trees; pruned my little fruit orchard; and a million other little things to make my yard feel in control. Mr. Beck is astonishingly knowledgable. Anyone needing tree service would be ill-advised not to use this amazing group of professionals!! You can't go wrong with Beck's!"

"The service provided was excellent. I did a Google search for tree maintenance and removal service and was contacted the next day by Tomaselli Tree Service and Mr. Tomaselli came over the same afternoon at 2 PM and made gave me an estimate for his service. We agreed on the price and then he advised me he could do the job the next day. He arrived with his crew and equipment including a wood chipper to turn all the removed material into compost and wood chips for garden areas. They completed the work the same day to our satisfaction and were finished by 5PM. I have an appointment for his company to do some other maintenance work for me in a couple weeks. I would highly recommend his company for all types of yard service and property maintenance including fence building, custom gates. curbing etc."

Removing dead and diseased branches can help the tree recover and increase the odds of saving a dying tree. Make sure to prune the tree correctly to avoid damaging it further.

You can shape a cherry tree by trimming vertical branches, dense branches, and intersecting branches. Your personal aesthetic comes into play, as well. If you want to simply thin and shape the tree, you can get away with trimming the aforementioned parts of your cherry tree. If you want to shorten branches, however, consider thinning cuts, which alter the length of the branches while encouraging light penetration, new buds and shoots, and a structurally-sound shape.
