"They arrived on time and repaired the hole in my kitchen ceiling, repainted ceiling, repainted door jams, fixed bathroom cabinet, hung stained glass fixtures, hung towel rack, installed AC outlet covers, replaced screen door, replaced garage bumper, and swept out garage. Very happy with the work done at a reasonable cost and appreciate them cleaning up afterward."

"This was a surprising painless experience after years of dread. Richard came out quickly and gave us a reasonable bid. The price quoted was at the top of the range, but he demonstrated why during his tour of our apartment. He had a much better command of what would be required and how best to do it. Sure enough, the work was done very quickly, exactly on schedule, and with excellent attention to detail and quality. This was far from the terrible experiences we've witnessed when handymen and other non-specialists did the same kind of job for friends. First of all -- our expectation of dust everywhere was just wrong. They use moisture to remove the popcorn so there's no dust at all. Zero. The place was completely clean when they finished. Exactly as promised, it took the specialized crew just one day to move furniture, seal off all surfaces with dust/muck proof plastic coverings, scrape the ceilings and refinish with our chosen sheetrock mud finish coat. Then it had to dry for two days (turned out to be just one in our case due to hot/dry weather). The following day the second crew came in, moved the furniture again, covered walls and floor, and painted the ceiling beautifully. We were able to move back into the condo that night. Technically you can stay in your place while it dries, but it was much nicer staying in a friends place since we had that available. Perfect quality work and a month later we're still staring at how great our ceilings look. I spent many years in high end real estate restoration, so have seen the good and bad. I really can't recommend these guys highly enough."

"Marco is amazing! He went above and beyond to make our home look amazing. He's a genuine guy and fixed things in my home that he noticed needed repairs. He didn't have to, but he did it out of the generosity of his heart. I would highly recommend Marco and will hire him every time I need a repair!"

"We had just recently bought a home built in the 70’s that had acoustic popcorn on the ceilings and heavy orange peel on the walls throughout the house. Alex and his crew did an amazing job transforming the house into an entirely new space. The plaster work they did on the walls and ceilings has elevated the vibe of the entire place. Alex was a great pleasure to work with throughout the project. He is a man of skill, hard work and integrity. I can’t recommend him highly enough. Thank you Alex!"

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

While vinyl is the least costly material for building a retaining wall, the most cost-effective method is to use wood or concrete blocks for a DIY retaining wall under 2 feet tall. Wood is inexpensive but lasts 20 years or more with care. Concrete can cost a little more but is stronger and will last longer with less maintenance.

If you don’t backfill a retaining wall—either at all or adequately enough—the wall won’t drain well, and water will be able to pass through it. Poor drainage will lead to a warped wall or a buildup of hydrostatic pressure, which can eventually collapse your retaining wall. If you have particularly sloped land, consult a structural engineer to ensure your hardscaping is adding value to your home.

With foundation walls, the slab on grade and force at the top of the wall is resisted by flooring. With retaining walls, the force at the top of the wall is not resisted.

Each design is different, so we can’t say definitively if you’ll need a dedicated drainage system in place for a two-foot retaining wall. However, you can likely skip the drainage, as this project is typically served for walls that are 4 feet tall or more. Even with a relatively low wall, consider drainage if you are building on top of clay or poor-draining soil types or if there are buried water sources nearby, like a well used for other outdoor garden projects.

Options include concrete, stone, brick, and wood, tailored for specific design needs.
