Customers say: Super punctual

"Juan is very easy to work with and was able to accommodate our difficult project in a short amount of time. We had popcorn ceiling removed and replaced with a smooth finish, with a large sloped ceiling almost 15ft high. The quote was reasonable and matched the finished project exactly, the quality of work is fantastic, and the project was done in a short amount of time. His team went above-and-beyond to paint where beams had been removed; something that was not in our original quote. We are very happy with the work done and look forward to working with Juan for any drywall needs in the future."

"We were on a tight schedule. Mike and Alex arrived on time and did a very good job on the six rooms they painted for us. Everything was protected, flooring was covered with paper and drop cloths, all fixtures masked, and gaps and cracks were caulked. Ceilings, Walls, Doors and Woodwork all came out great. Eagle Eye was timely, professional and neat. We would use them again for any painting project."

"These guys were fantastic !! We had ceiling / wall damage to our lathe-n-plaster due to a roof leak. We found them on Angi, and Luis was very easy to work with...he got 2 guys to come do the work within 2 days of our first conversation. Those guys were amazing...showed up on time, protected the room from dust / debris with plastic sheeting and drop-cloth paper, removed the old damaged plaster, installed insulation in the wall/ceiling, installed new drywall, and textured the mud to exactly match our existing plaster around the damaged area. We are SOOOO happy with the results !! I've already talked to Luis about doing another repair project in our bathroom...looking forward to the same great results from his team."

"I hired Candido to remove our popcorn ceilings. He did a fantastic job while working with us on our schedules - he had to spend 2 more days than he anticipated because of other things going in the home. He was courteous and understanding of our situation - finished his job without any extra charges. I ended up hiring him for the paint job too and he did great again. I am really happy to recommend him to anyone on paint, popcorn or any other drywall jobs."

"Bill and the rest of the Fine Point team were incredible.
They sanded and repainted a large kitchen with stained oak cabinets. Since the oak didn't take the paint like other woods, they applied an extra coat of primer and and extra finishing coat to make sure that it looked the way we hoped. They used a spray, which helped give the cabinets a professional, uniform coat. They look fantastic.
When the paint dried, some of the cabinets didn't close properly. This is not a criticism?when we told Bill, he came by the next day to fix those that were misaligned (which could have happened in any project), so the final kitchen looked perfect.
The whole team was really friendly. They put in extra hours to make sure the job was done well, and honored their initial estimate, which was completely reasonably compared to some estimates we received.
They touched up several areas of the house. When we couldn't find a matching paint for the upstairs bathroom, Bill repainted the entire wall with another paint, and he did it for a nominal fee.
What can I say? The team was patient with us as clients, thorough with the job, and masters of the craft. Our house looks fantastic, and I'd hire them or recommend them in a heartbeat.

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

Because of the nature of the texture, it's common for the popcorn texture to loosen while painting. Popcorn ceilings are delicate, and using a heavy hand with a roller or applying overly wet paint can loosen the texture. To avoid a mess, handle the material gently with a roller or brush. It's also smart to test a small area first, and if the texture starts coming off, the ceiling may need repairs or sealing before painting.

If your popcorn ceiling is asbestos-free and you are ready for a new look, painting is an option. As long as there is no flaking or other wear, a new coat of paint might be just the thing to refresh the old ceiling. The best way to paint a popcorn ceiling is to use either a paint sprayer or a thick roller to cover the popcorn texture fully. (Do not forget to dust it off beforehand!)

“Note that if you eventually want to remove the popcorn ceiling, a painted ceiling is a labor-intensive job to remove and will cost more,” says Bob Tschudi. “Once painted, the process of removing the popcorn ceiling requires physical scraping as opposed to a spray-and-scrape approach. It’s very labor-intensive, and thus more costly.”

If your popcorn ceiling contains asbestos, you must hire a professional asbestos removal company to handle the disposal. If your popcorn ceiling does not have asbestos, you can call a popcorn ceiling removal specialist to handle the job. Otherwise, you can hire a drywall or painting professional to handle the job, depending on what you need done.

Using a paint sprayer is the most effective method for painting popcorn ceilings, and it's why professionals choose spraying versus rolling paint. The sprayer simplifies the challenges of painting the texture. However, we don’t recommend that DIYers try to use a sprayer indoors as it could make a significant mess. Using a paint roller on a ladder is the easiest option that results in much less mess.

Older textures may contain asbestos, requiring careful handling and professional inspection before work begins to ensure safety compliance.
