"JV Cabinets was wonderful with our galley kitchen reface and rebuild. We had subway tile and quartz installed. The whole team: Jorge, Jaime Jr. and Sr.; Robert, David and Miguel were always professional and assisted us with design questions. We were able to hide our washer dryer in a cabinet and also get a broom closet! The whole project took only 30 days despite some hiccups with scheduling beyond their control. I would definitely recommend them."

Small jobs welcome

"Paul and Vicki with Cunningham Construction are miracle workers and true masters of their craft! We had previously used them for another renovation project in our East Bay home. The results were fantastic and we received countless compliments from real estate agents, neighbors and potential buyers when we put our home on the market. In fact, we actually sold our home much higher than even larger sized houses in our neighborhood. Throughout the renovation process, we were so impressed and spoiled with their expertise, professionalism, honesty, patience and amazing personalities, that we refused to work with any other contractor except Cunningham Construction for the renovation of our South Bay home. From ceiling to floor, Paul and Vicki fully constructed a new kitchen, living/dining room, bedroom and two bathrooms on the first floor of our house all from wood studs and a concrete foundation. Before our very eyes, the dark 1970's nightmare that used to be our bottom floor was transformed into a beautiful and efficient/functional space that will serve our guests and potential renters for years to come. At the end of each day (as customary for Paul/Vicki), we were provided a thorough update on everything completed that day as well as plans for the next day -- followed by a thorough clean-up of the area. We always felt completely informed throughout the entire process and, unlike other contractors, 100% of their time and attention was fully dedicated to us for the duration of our project. Paul/Vicki were able to address all of our questions and concerns and even help provide us many options to keep our costs as low as possible. Estimates were detailed and thorough, and every aspect of the job met and exceeded our specification demands. All work was performed to existing code and numerous permit inspections were performed throughout the job due to its size. Even the inspectors with the city commented on how flawless their work was, especially compared to most other jobs that they see. Therefore, we are extremely pleased and have full confidence and complete peace of mind in our final product. If you are looking to hire a contractor who you can trust to perform the BEST work possible for your biggest home/business investment(s), look no further. You absolutely won't regret hiring Cunningham Construction!"

"Rick and team used LIDAR technology to see how interior walls matched up in our custom home and came up with an open concept floor plan that netted us a new office, walk in closet, walk in pantry, new bedroom flooring and a brand new bathroom with custom zero lip shower. We are thrilled with our new remodel! Ovation runs an amazing team who are very respectful, clean and listen to customer needs."

Closets questions, answered by experts

The time it takes to build a closet varies widely depending on the project's size, complexity, and level of customization. On average, construction can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks.

A simple reach-in closet might be completed in less than a day, while a more complex walk-in closet could take one to two days or more. A typical project often falls in the 2-to-5-day range. However, a large, highly customized walk-in closet that requires structural changes, like moving a load-bearing wall, will take significantly longer.

A professional contractor can provide the most accurate time estimate for your specific project. If you are planning a DIY build, it is best to budget additional time.

Although you can complete a closet frame in just an afternoon, finishing the entire closet will take a few days to a week. However, that’s still not as much as the average time it takes to remodel a closet, which can take anywhere from several weeks to more than a month. That’s because you also have to consider the time it will take to demolish the existing space, plan a new design, order materials, and actually install it.

A foyer or entryway is typically a formal landing area for guests, located at the primary entrance of a home. It is often more formally decorated and connects directly to the main living space. In contrast, a mudroom is a more casual, utilitarian room, usually leading in from a secondary entrance like a garage or the side or rear of the house. It serves as a space for residents to remove shoes and outerwear to keep mud, dirt, and water out of the main home.

You can turn an adjacent room into a walking closet by just rearranging the room. This means removing the furniture and adding racks and an island in the center if you have that in your budget. Houses with two bedrooms connected to each other are great options for large walk-in closets that don't require any structural changes or much building whatsoever.

Since they are so fragile, it is not usually recommended to stack anything on top of your packed lamps. If you have sturdy boxes, and what you plan to put on top of them is of a similar weight, it’s okay to stack.
