"I highly recommend Krystal. Helped my renter trouble shoot an alarm issue over the phone. She called me right back and did not charge me for his "expertise". She is an honest Lady....what more do you want!"

"Walter and Glen at Protect Your Home Group with ADT are the best people to talk to in terms of security alarm. Being a locksmith myself I know how important it is to deal with the right people. I referred a lot of customers to them and so far they are happy with their service. I myself got one for my house. Thank you for a consistent service and great deal."

Hardware, Latches & Tracks (Door) - Repair or Replace

Serving Brownsville, CA and surrounding areas

In business since 2003

"Aaron completed exterior painting, cleaned up wiring, installed an interior fire door, refit interior doors so they would no longer stick, replaced putty on exterior windows, and other misc jobs.  On time, professional, up front and honest about costs.  Quality of work is excellent. Gets the job done promptly, is very knowledgeable, and is easy to work with.  Prices are fair and reasonable.
Will definitely continue using his services and would have no problem recommending."

"My sun room had patio doors that would not lock properly. Needless to say I felt unsafe to have my doors the way they were. I called Handyman Contractor and they came out a day or two later to look at my problem and give me an estimate. They were willing to do the entire job that day but I was unavailable so they came back the next morning and got it done very quickly. The doors lock perfectly and I feel much more secure in my home. I would recommend them to others. They were very professional and very reasonably priced. For the parts, they do not up charge the cost of the materials and they even show you a receipt for the amount they spent on the cost for materials. I am very satisfied and feel they did a wonderful job!"

"There were many things wrong in my computer (my fault and letting grandchildren on computer) Robert was so helpful, gave me many good instructions to keep everything safe, which I have written down, feel like I have a new computer. He was so excellent and experienced, took his time and was meticulous about what needed to be done. He was a pleasure to work with and I will use this company again! Linda Disy"

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

If you’re having an issue turning the key inside a lock, chances are there is dust or dirt buildup within the cylinder. The easiest solution is applying a dry lubricant to the lock, which loosens the dirt buildup. You may need to turn the key a few times for it to work properly again.

Costs depend on lock type, service complexity, labor, emergency availability, and whether security system integration is needed.

Standard residential deadbolt locks come with a steel bolt that locks your door into place using a key (or keypad) on one side and a thumb turn on the other. When you lock it, the bolt slides into a strike plate on your door jamb to secure your door shut.

It can affect security, especially if you don’t finish it properly. A Dutch door has more moving parts that can be compromised, so you’ll want to use solid hardware and make sure everything lines up and locks cleanly. If the latch is flimsy or the two halves don’t sit tight, it’s going to be easier to force open.

The good news is that, yes, you can change locks yourself. Many people find it’s an easy DIY project that requires few tools and not much expense (depending on which lock you’re installing). If you have trouble with any part of an installation, you can always call a locksmith to help finish installing them.
