We got 4 companies to come and give us a quote.  Two of them were cheaper but they seemed as puzzled as we were about what to do and could not guarantee from future problems. The other company suggested rebuilding the entire deck and was way out of budget. Ryan from Monarch Custom Coatings came with a sample that had several layers to waterproof the deck - we were very impressed that he was very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience with this type of work. "They did a great job!  We gave them specific directions to trim the two huge trees off the roof and away from the sidewalk, and they did exactly that, and when we requested they trim a few branches a bit more because they hung over a neighbor's property, it was no problem or additional expense.  There was a very heavy windstorm within a month of the trim job, and a remaining branch snapped and was hanging down.  I called California Arborist and they came out the same day and cut it off, with no additional charge.  The trees were shaped nicely, not just lopped off.  We were very happy with the work.

Gil’s crew was skilled and efficient. Gil did note that I had some drainage issues and recommended the addition of drains to the concrete project. His price for the drain was competitive and would insure that my side yard drainage issues that occurred during heavy rains are remedied. Gil and his crew poured/finished a beautiful new walkway.
