"My husband and I needed new windows for our fixer-upper. And boy oh boy, did Ameristar deliver. The installers came ready to work and get the job done. The lead, Jared, was hardworking and stayed until the job was complete. Our sales rep, Conor, went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. And satisfied does not even come close to how we feel. We have had multiple people coming through our house, whether for personal or professional purposes, and we have gotten so many compliments and inquiries about our windows. Thank you, Ameristar."

"10/10 would recommend. I needed a new window screen and found Jose on angis list. He came out and installed it in 30 minutes and charged me a very reasonable price. Very professional and friendly. He's a great handyman and all around great guy. Had lots of fun chatting with him as well. Charged me half price of competitors on angis list"

"I highly recommend this product and this company. I found Tint Factory through the list of LA recommended companies on the 3M website. they were not the only companies that I interviewed. I called 3M a few times with questions and interviewed the companies that came out to give bids. the Tint Factory people from the beginning couldn't have been nicer. they were on time, explained every step, cleaned up all and the price was right. the film takes about a month to "cure" and the work was done only a few days ago but what a transformation - the house is so much cooler and 99% of the UV rays are no longer going to fade my furniture, photos or art. a happier me. my assistant marveled today at how much cooler the house was and it was blistering outside today... LA will, unfortunately, only be getting hotter - solar film is a good way to reduce that heat load. even if you use air-conditioning (which I don't), you will have less hot air to cool."

"The installers were great. The salesperson made promises that he did not keep and he missed a window. When the person came to measure he also didn’t catch that I was having all my windows done except one. The windows look great. The response when I notified the co that one window was missed was very fast but added to my cost."

Customers say: True professional

"Outstanding company, quick service and work as advertised. Sadly, I had not done my due diligence and had not signed up for California earthquake authority grant - so I did not get the benefit of the rebate. If I had done it previously, I would have gotten most of the money that I spent back. As it was, I needed the retrofit done quickly so I would qualify for the new home insurance policy after Farmers dropped me due to fire risk. Timothy Sparks (the owner of the company) personally coordinated the work and was present when it was completed, and made sure it passed the City inspection. Due to the quick and comprehensive work done, I was able to retain the new home insurance, and also have the piece of mind that my old home is protected against the possible future earthquake. It was not exactly cheap (my old house also needed additional work due to cripple walls) but definitely worth the money. Recommend 100%!"

"This company went above and beyond on my property. After years of being told stains would not come up on my driveway they were able to make it look like brand new. They did a great job on my house and windows as well. I actually referred them to 5 of my friends and everyone is thrilled with their work. -John From Grand Terrace"

Windows questions, answered by experts

Most homeowners prefer to service their windows during the spring or fall when temperatures are the most bearable, and having large openings in your wall won’t drastically increase your heating and cooling bills. However, while these seasons are the most convenient, you’ll also tend to pay more for window repair due to the increased demand. If you want to reduce labor costs, consider making window repairs in the off-seasons. Avoid waiting until the heart of winter to do repairs, though, as you could run into leaks and heat loss issues.

Generally speaking, you should clean your windows and any associated fixtures and treatments every six months. Otherwise, clean them as needed to keep everything running smoothly. If you live in a part of the country with especially hard water, you may have to clean them three or four times per year, and the same goes for areas where insects, pollen, dirt, and other debris can soil your windows and potentially cause issues with the moving parts.

Double-pane windows offer several key benefits, making them a worthwhile investment. They provide superior insulation and energy efficiency compared to single-pane windows, which helps limit heat loss, maintain more comfortable indoor temperatures, and lower your utility bills. The design, which features two panes of glass filled with air or gas, also dramatically reduces noise from outside, making your home significantly quieter. Additionally, the dual-pane construction strengthened by spacers improves the durability and security of your windows.

Yes, most manufacturers and contractors offer warranties covering materials and labor. It is important to confirm the specific terms of the warranty before purchasing.

Glass block windows typically last for 15 to 30 years, which is slightly less than the 20- to 50-year lifespan of standard windows. You can extend their life by resealing them every few years. Professional installation is also key to ensuring the windows are placed correctly and will function properly for years to come. A professional installer will have the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to install these features and can identify potential issues like damaged frames or cramped areas during a consultation.
